I just wouldn't buy anything like that second hand or from any place questionable, but yeah, caveat emptor these days. China produces some amazing fakes of just about anything you can think of or someone would buy.

The "fakes" are often made on the same assembly line as the real ones. The only difference between "real" and "fake" is whether Apple got its cut.

Look at the first link. Your statement is simply not true. They are cheap knockoff with no noise canceling, and several other differences.
