Crap.
Fantastic talent. He was one of Rolling Stone's top 5 all time drummers.

Very sad.
I really liked his book "Ghost Rider". I'll have to give Red Sector A a few listens tonight. |

The drummer that every other drummer wanted to be like. Lost his wife and kid years ago both within a year of each other.

And another one... The greatest era of rock'n'roll (and not just because I grew up through it) is behind us, and all of its heroes will soon be gone. What a shame. While I never was much of a Rush fan, I do have immense respect for their talent and the distinctly innovative sound they brought to the genre. This guy was extremely talented, no doubt. And while I hate those damn "best" lists or comparisons, he deserves to be mentioned with the likes of John Bonham, Bill Bruford, Ginger Baker, Keith Moon, and a select few others as one of the all-time greats. RIP...

Part of my youth feels gutted. Wasn’t ready to see him depart yet. Hopefully He, Moon and Bonham are in a drum off right now.

Bummer. I was and am a Rush fan but more important to me was his documenting his recovery from the grief of losing his wife and daughter in Ghost Rider. It was an inspiration that got me long distance touring. I'll knock back some single malt in his honor tonight. I don't have any Macallan but some Aberfeldy will do. RIP Mr. Peart.

Wow I'm sad!
I grew up with Rush, and played drums inspired by Neil. Best drummer ever! He had an unbelievably sad life as well. God bless

My buddy (big Rush fan) just suggested I watch this little taste of what NP was capable of...
