Saw one part for a while where a '57 Corvette went for $75K. I told my wife it was a real steal. A little while later on another went for something like $130 or $150K.

Rick Hendrick just paid $3,000,000 for C8 VIN number 1. I think he bought #1 C6 and C7 also when they came out. All for charity.

I'm very surprised at the super high prices this year. Ungodly money, but some gorgeous cars passing the block. $975,000 for a ZL 1 Camaro, ?????

That's what I was thinking also. Seems like if you can't drop $100K+, there's no need to go.

Since it was on so much it is hard to not see some of it. motortrend tv is my default station. I turned on my tv and saw a 914. The announcer giving “facts” about the car then stated the engine can’t be see at all from the top. He even put his hand on the engine lid, but continued on talk about how the Boxster is the same way, no view of the engine except from below. I changed channels then.

On Friday I saw some cars go through that were a real steal. Then on Saturday I see cars going through that were less than collect ability and condition going for stupid sums of money. Use to be able to marginally look at prices and it would mirror the economy. This weekend has thrown that out the door. Emotion is the driver....

Red face

Sitting here in the winter cold watching this is fun, except for all the commercials. The " sold girl" is nice to watch. I'm not sure I like the new women reporter, as her car knowledge is thin. Laughed when she asked a Corvette restorer what was the most challenging thing about the restore, and he said " matching all the numbers". Ohhhh

I'd rather watch the Mecum announcers. They seem to be far more knowledgeable.

Yeah, I noticed the girl placing the sold signs on the cars too. I like the way she stands when she does it.

I heard Chris Jacobs sat that a '15 Cayman S came from the factory with a 4 liter "motor" but it had been modified with a 6 liter "motor" from a 911. He ultimately corrected liter to cylinder, but he was still wrong, since the '15 Cayman S had the 3.4l 6. I mean--I like the guy, and I get that he's a MoPar muscle -head, but seriously wtf? It was good for a laugh.

As for the pricing, it is clear that there's a premium just for being in a B-J auction, and while I enjoy watching the broadcasts (anyone notice the block-girl in the yoga pants with her ample rear right in the camera while she places the "sold" sticker on the windshield?) I certainly don't think I'd buy anything there, as if I could anyway.

I think Mecum has a better formula, although this seems to have taken place in the last couple of years.

Same announcer was babbling about a '79 930 that hammered at $130,000....He goes on about the turbo has an Aluminum "block" that is a lot stronger than the Mag Blocks on the NA 911's.........

Chris seems like a likeable goof from what I've seen of him on Overhaulin'. I'm super impressed that he donated the proceeds of his '68 GTX to the C4 Foundation, so his stock with me went through the roof. I caught the episode on Graveyard Carz when they put in a 392 crate motor after an engine fire- nice car with a tasteful Chip Foose paint job and wheels.
