My point is that we can't say one way or the other. One thing is certain is that she took a 7-figure settlement and had relations with 3 other men at minimum. It was an easy business deal for both sides at the time.

911boost 01-27-2020 06:56 PM

Would you pay out 7 figures if you were innocent?

Not to drag this through the mud anymore.

No, Sir. I would not. But I am not worth a half Billion $$.

911boost 01-27-2020 07:51 PM

True and agree.

No, but the lawyers were almost certainly telling him to "settle". That's what lawyers always do.

+1. Not the time, nor the place.

Crowbob 01-28-2020 07:33 AM

Why?

The man is dead. He doesn’t care what some people on a minuscule, microscopic chat room have to say about him. Nor will his family or the other families ever know what is said here. It’s not like we’re buying full page ads in the NYT or Bassaball Daily calling him out.

What I don’t get is why the pilot was even in the air under those conditions.

javadog 01-28-2020 07:35 AM

There’s a certain amount of respect accorded to the dead, and these people haven’t even been laid to rest, much less mourned.

I don’t know how to explain it to you if that’s not the way you were raised.

911boost 01-28-2020 07:44 AM

I get that java, I really do but I missed the part where he has to be worshipped.

Because honestly, with all the media coverage, that’s what it feels like.

He was great at playing a game, and from what I can tell with a single exception “we know about” a good father and husband, but he wasn’t a hero worthy of what my perception is.

Since I brought up the dissenting topic I apologize, but I’m not changing my stance,

I agree but the only thing you can count on 100% on forum threads, (not just here), is that at least one idiotic post will appear. I'd actually be happy to debate KB's character and that chapter of his life but not here. Not now. :(

The problem is that you do not "know about" what you refer to and we do know about thousands of examples of him being a mensch and great human being.

Crowbob 01-28-2020 07:50 AM

BS jdog, respectfully.

Our lives and Kobe’s are so far apart we could be talking about Martians. Nobody here is talking trash, especially about the victims. I feel bad for the families and for the victims. But to get all righteous about discussing Kobe is pretty, let’s say, virtuous and sort of superficial.

It’s a tragedy. Profound to some, complete non-event to others and that’s the way it will always be.

It’s also none of your business how I was raised and inappropriate for you to call me out on your opinion of it.

He doesn’t have to be worshiped. His life will be celebrated because he was one of the greatest players that ever lived and he was an inspiration to a lot of people. Give these people the time and space to mourn his loss.

Ignore the media coverage. They cover whatever stories will give them the most ratings.

911boost 01-28-2020 07:50 AM

Ok Denis.

You are right as always.

Whatever.

911boost 01-28-2020 07:51 AM

Well put Java.

I wasn’t trying to call you out on it, I was saying that I was raised to act differently in instances like this, so I don’t have a frame of reference for how you might view this. In other words, I don’t know what to tell you to answer your questions.

I do think some of the comments in this thread are disrespectful and it matters not that Kobe was a celebrity. It does seem that when a celebrity is involved, it brings out negative comments that wouldn’t otherwise be there for a non-celebrity. I don’t understand that rationale.

911boost 01-28-2020 08:03 AM

The only thing I can think Java is that maybe because sometimes when it’s a celebrity certain items are glossed over or become taboo to mention?

Like you said, this was a horrible event that potentially could have been avoided and maybe that contributes to the ongoing media coverage. I am sure if I was a Lakers fan it would be more of an event.

Joe Bob 01-28-2020 08:18 AM

I hate basketball....what too soon?
