Have you ever been car sick when you’re the driver?

Happened to my for the first time today. I’ve driven up towards Big Bear, CA many times so I’m fairly familiar with the road and its twists and turns. Today I rented a Nissan Altima rather than a SUV. Of course I took advantage of the low center of gravity and took the turns tighter and faster. Wow, I’m pretty dizzy and feel like I have to nap. Maybe it’s because I’m getting old so my eyes and brain aren’t syncing up as quickly. I think I’ll go back to a SUV next time I drive the twisties. Or, I’ll live with the dizziness because it’s heck of a lot of fun driving fast in a slow car.

I made myself car sick once while driving.
I was trying to set a fastest time on Hwy 128 going from Andersonville to Cloverdale in my '68 BMW 1600. I knew the road pretty well and it was late on a Sunday afternoon so not much traffic.
Had to stop about half-way and take a walk to get my ears back to where they were OK balance wise.
My kids kid me about being able to get sea sick standing on a dock. Really sensitive inner ears I guess.

I have not. I think I have been motion sick 3 times in my life.

Driving the Tail of the Dragon, I got a bit wonky about 7 miles in. Combination of driving a rental, having driven for several hours before arriving, and generally not sleeping well while on vacation. I can only imaging how my wife felt in the passenger seat...

No. I am fortunate to not suffer motion sickness.

Yup.. Can't do track days, but can do autocross since the runs are very short. Also had to mostly give up riding motorcycles since I can't do the twisties anymore either.

Would love to get a private pilots license, but can't handle the small planes. Get motion sick quite easily.

Once the motion sickness sets in, I'm done. Usually takes 24-36 hours for me to get back to normal.

As long as I'm behind the wheel I'm fine. If I'm a passenger and someone wants me to look at a map or a phone for directions.. nope not gonna do it.

We were out driving in our '65 VW convertible on a glorious summer evening. We stopped at the Tastee Freeze for ice cream and chili dogs and went for just a slow, enjoyable evening drive home - our son, his mom, his 15 lb mutt, and me - the driver. The dog got sick and yacked in the back seat with the kid. The kid got sick, leaned over and blew chunks all over the gear shift, his mom got sick and was retching. The smell was too much and I lost it and vomited out the driver's door.

Yes. Took a quick left-right-left-right up on Angeles Crest once. Made myself a bit nauseated. Then I got back on the throttle and promptly forgot about it.

Only on the track. First time when I was a passenger in my instructor's GT3 at AMP. Then a few times in the Supra in ChampCar races.

Bonine now before every track day.

Yeah, at the time it was frikin' hilarious. The car had been abandoned by a customer and I had been driving it a few weeks. I was considering getting a lean and taking possession until the barf-orama. We walked home and left the car by the side of the road. Never saw it again.

Never been car sick ever. Even as a passenger on a track day. Not even as a passenger in our Cessna 182 operating the laptop and not looking out the window. Two laptops at once and no horizon get me a big woozy, but 5 minutes of looking at the horizon and I was fine.

The only time I remember be air-sick was during the 1999 Storm "Martin" as we landed in Switzerland, Dec 27th, 1999. A full 777 of people, almost all getting sick. I kept it down, but I was definitely air-sick.

I've never become car sick while driving.

How on earth would you guys cope with driving a slow car fast on European country lanes? Or the Adriatic Highway?

Yep. Kart race on a hot August day. Had 1st and 3rd stint. Was a bit queasy near end of 1st stint and expected to recover during partner's stint. 2nsd stint made about 3 laps of the 1/2 mile course and was feeling horrible. Two more laps and I was off the track in the grass done for the day, but without a helmet and face covered by breakfast. Couldn't even tilt my head to remove my helmet. Walk of shame back to paddock to let my partner finish the race while I sat in misery, waiting for things to pass.
Had not been car sick since I was a kid. Sea sick on Lake Michigan, yes, but not car sick.
I will not go into several amusement park experiences
