Home Made Sanitizer

I put my home brew, no rinse sanitizer recipe up on my Mi-Grid Website.

I made a modified version for people to use on solid surfaces.

http://mi-grid.com/sanitizer/

Please feel free to share the web-site address around. I know people can't find the Clorox wipes/Lysol around these days.

It says 5 minutes, but it should work in 30 seconds.

And while you're there, check out what Mi-Grid can do for you.

Red-Beard, that is a good simple recipe.

Here is a link to WHO's recipe for a hand sanitizer.

https://www.who.int/gpsc/5may/Guide_to_Local_Production.pdf

Just read that NY State is going to produce there own hand sanitizer for various state agencies and schools.

We’re hearing from local governments that acquiring hand sanitizer has been a real problem.

NYS will immediately begin producing hand sanitizer ourselves — 100,000 gallons per week. We'll provide it to government agencies, schools, the MTA, prisons, & others. #COVID19

I know a guy down in Kentucky

Never knew that was used for beer brewing equipment! I use Star San or Iodophore.

An even easier version is to mix isopropyl alcohol and aloe vera - that's essentially what Purell is.

Yeah, obvious typo...everyone knows it's spelled "gererator".

The best typo we had was on the Contact page on a Spanish language page on a different website. The typo:

Contaco instead of Contacto

"with taco" instead of "contact"

Actually, most of those are ethanol mixed with aloe vera. As you can see with the "recipes", you need to start with 99% alcohol, which is difficult to find right now.

An even easier version is to use a surfactant with a high temp exposure that is commonly available... I like soap and hot water, but others may work well too.

Just what ever you do, don’t use denatured alcohol, as there is a minimum of 5% methanol added depending on the brand. Methanol is toxic, even via skin absorption.
