SOS Need help identifying THIS hose...... ASAP

[PRE-H20]

Hi Guys..... I need some help with a broken hose and getting a new one. I don't know what it is called so I cant order a new one.

I have a 2005 Super Charged C230 Kompressor 1.8

It is located on the passenger side, here are a couple of pictures to orient you guys........

PLEASE send me the part number if possible.

If I had to guess, I'd say nothing is actually 'broken'. It looks like the hose came out of the coupler.

It looks like the charge air hose from the compressor, the one that's pulled away with O-ring.

Scott..... you were dead on!

Once I got a chance to really get in there and see what was happening, BINGO.

The hose had come loose (had some work done on it recently and it may have been reassembled incorrectly.

Seated the hose and buttoned it down..... now NO surging whatsoever!

Still amazing to me how brave a keyboard makes some of us.

Either way, thanks to you guys, it was a simple fix once I was able to get in there and see what was happening.

Pretty sure Home Depot has a $10 replacement which works exactly the same.

That spring (?) braced air hose feeding a standard accordian looks way overdesigned.

It's designed to keep a rounded internal profile and follow the engine while it torques in the mounts (might want to check those).

There is no such thing as German over-engineering.
Such talk could get you in trouble.

My Powerstroke diesel has a hose coming off the intercooler very similar to that. It is a know weak point that sometimes comes apart under hard acceleration when towing. Fortunately I was right near my house when it happened. Went aftermarket to solve that issue....

To hold the profile, assuming the internal pressure is lower than atm, I was wondering .... wouldn't it be better to have the springs inside the flexible hose ?

air is under pressure from the SC [kompress] so no
