I'm using a Schuberth E1. It's a full face but you can flip the front up for yelling at people LOL

Depends on which part you want turned into hamburger...
Depends on how good you want the corpse to look...

etc

Ask yourself, Where am I going to ride, How much am I going to ride, and
How much do I like my face.

Yup. The first time you take a stone or even a large bug to the face at speed with an open-face (or no) helmet, you will wish you would've gone with a full-face.

Much better protection if/when going down as well. Stick with something from a reputable manufacturer (Arai, Shoei, Bell, etc.) and make sure you get the right size (and shape) for your melon. Most folks end up going too big. If you are in between sizes, usually the smaller one is the better choice, as the lining will break in over time. Obviously you don't want it compressing your cheeks/face and giving you a headache within a matter of minutes though.

Another thing to keep in mind is that many of the top-end models for each brand are more track-oriented, and as such can be very loud. Some don't mind this, as they typically offer excellent ventilation, and are lightweight. It just makes riding with earplugs pretty much mandatory IMO. If you want something super quiet, it usually comes at the expense of less ventilation, and additional weight.

Full face, because eating a bumble bee sucks.

In the summer, I prefer a dirt bike helmet and goggles to a street bike helmet because I don't like hearing myself breathe like Darth Vader. I like a cool breeze about my face when I ride in warm weather too.

Also, I wear an expensive helmet 'cause, like every biker, I got an expensive head.

I ride with a full face, nothing else. One saved my face as a youngster, and I have sworn by them ever since.

I'll tell you a story about a friend who hit radiator fluid on a freeway on-ramp riding his HD Road King. It was only a 30 mph fall. He was wearing enough leather to re-skin a buffalo...but only an open face bucket helmet (common to the HD types). He face-planted the guardrail. Three surgeries later he had a pinned eye socket and jaw, and a reconstructed septum. Had he been wearing a full-face, he'd just have one hell of a headache.

Don't be stupid.

I've been riding on the street since 1976. I've been hit by other vehicles twice, and have crashed on my own a few times as well. In each and every instance, my full-faced helmets suffered damage that otherwise would have been taken by my face. To me, there is no choice - full face. No question.

Haha, I saw that diagram too and put my open face helmet away and bought top of the line.

AND I'd just spent $1,400 on one tooth so $999 seemed like a bargain.

Full Face! Especially for a passenger.

A friend of mine's exgirlfriend suffered from a broken jaw and nose after smashing it on his helmet in a minor crash.

I hate seeing girls on the back of bikes with open face helmets after this incident.

after seeing what the chin bar and shield looked like after a crash I was happy that the helmet took the grinding the earth provided and not my face. Will always wear a full face helmet....
