Post Your Virus Projects!

Well we all have lots of free time now, what are you doing to make it productive? Let’s make lemons into lemonade! I just finished repairing a bunch of crappy Sheetrock work, repainting, and then laying a hardwood floor in my living room. Today was car cleaning day and I ordered the stuff to replace the radio and speakers in my truck next week.

Mrs. Noah and I are still working, so our "project" has been finding some way to keep the 3 school-aged kids safe/fed/occupied at home during the weekdays.

No pictures yet, but today, I bought two John Deere 316 garden tractors with the twin cylinder Onan motors, and two 50" mower decks. One runs/moves great, but needs a little TLC, while the other has a blown motor, but many good parts. I paid $550 for both of them together.

To be honest, this isn't all that out of the ordinary for me. My business has peaks and valleys. I went out looking for antler drops the other day for some fun but I'd do that during a normal week when I get bored or tired of being around home. It's fun reading comments from people who aren't accustomed to working at home.

Upcoming plans, going to rent a floor grinder with vac and do some work in my basement.

Hoping my man cave build thread has some updates soon

Me too, but my weekends are weirdly empty without having three kids in sports. We also typically go out pretty often with friends, so we have way more free time than normal.

It was a nice day, so we took a hike in the local desert. We found this huge boulder with really interesting weathering. It was really nice to get out of the house. The problem with the hike was it was only five miles long, but the first half was a real uphill slog.

I'm still working but have a few projects of my own that I wanted done. Tackled one today. The deck furniture needed to have a fresh coat of protective oil as I've not done it since I bought the furniture 5 years ago. Picture with the single chair is the "after" and the group is what they all looked like before. Couldn't get an after of all of them because I had to stuff all the furniture into the shed (pending rain showers). Pretty happy with it!

Hike Thursday
Hike Friday
Mountain bike today.

I even "worked" Thursday and Friday!

And lost three pounds working from home a week.

No complaints.

I even bought oil and filter for my sister's car.

Doubt anybody would care to see a pic of an old man hobbling along with a tank sprayer full of roundup or brush killer depending...another 3-4 hours tomorrow and I hope to be done. Have to confess, the chore sure was easier 30 years ago...

I was thinking we might be lucky enough to hear from you.

The only real change here is having my grand daughter home every day from school. ( And of course both she and my wife have colds.)
I bought a small (12') sailboat that needs repairs to the foredeck, but haven't made the trip to pick it up yet.
The electrician who was re-wiring our house for a generator panel and upgrades is self isolating, so that has stopped with about two more days of work to go. The power company pushed the service call back three weeks.
I had better get a start on cleaning out my shop.

Stay safe, everyone.
Best
Les

Just done the timing belt and rollers on my Megane Sport 225. Then sprayed the rub strips and door handles to match the car. Now painting the Brembo's.

Finally getting the 73 back together. Installed the driver's door, all trim and mechanical stuff. Everything seems to work. Yippee!
On to the passenger side next.

I have the Wife convinced that all paint and hardware stores are closed due to the virus. And the first one of you guys who opens their pie hole and starts blabbing gets clobbered!

Hmmm, since this CV business ended my ski season early, on to the Pcar. It will be ready before the weather cooperates this year:)

1) Window switch, again:(
2) Replace vapor barriers while I'm in there
3) New fuel filter
4) Probably a new set of injectors
5) Lexol interior
6) General cleaning

Plus, the honeydo list grows by the hour. With luck, I can complete most of it so less complaints once I start running to my place in N. Wisconsin to fish and work on my tasks there.

I’m rebuilding this ancient Vox AC100 bass amp. Somewhere back in time someone put a 50 watt output transformer in it, I guess trying to get it to break up at lower volume, trying to make it into a good guitar amp. I’m restoring back to it’s original configuration.

I've been putting up Hardie board planks on my workshop addition.
