Actually, sales are fine. It's just that Mexico claimed 'non essential,' which is not how I see it.
That survey of 730 beer drinkers that determined 38% were avoiding Corona because of the virus appears to be an outlier.

OP - that's not the slant CNN paints:
"Grupo Modelo, the company that makes the beer, posted the announcement on Twitter, stating that it's halting production and marketing of its beer because the Mexican government has shuttered non-essential businesses." and "Corona's coincidental name with the virus hasn't dented sales. Constellation said sales of its beer brands grew 8.9% for the first three months of this year, with Modelo and Corona being its top sellers. Sales accelerated in the first three weeks of March, the company said, with its beers growing 24% compared to a year ago." |

Anyone remember AIDS? it was a diet pill back in the 80s. basically a caffeine pills disguised as a chocolate bon bon. my mom took them.
they tired to power through the negative association for a while.

For those that do not like Corona beer you just are not mixing it correct, add 1oz of Jose Cuervo Gold Especial Tequila ( I have tried others does not taste right) slowly into the bottle, it will float above the beer and then add some lime juice it will make the Tequila go cloudy, usually wolf down the first part, it adds a great flavour to the beer. Both should be cold. That was my crew drink for after sailboat racing, the only way to get crew to show up the next week.
Avoid drinking all six this way in one sitting.

Now that is acceptable to drink alone...
Not bad!!! Better than the Extra version. By far.

Right, no great loss.
The most impressive thing about Corona is the sturdiness of the box and bottles. I used to bartend, and compared to almost every other beer that I ever dealt with the bottles and boxes were very sturdy and well made.

I don't always drink Mexican beer. But when I do, I drink Negra Modelo.

In Long Beach is a street named Corona Ave. A lot of it is in the Belmont Shore district home of countless restaurants and bars. The city had to move the street signs 4 feet higher than standard height because they couldn't keep them from being snaked. Two drunks, one standing on the shoulders of the other and the sign was gone in 60 seconds.
Now, who wants to live on Corona Ave.? https://goo.gl/maps/hEBTurzZHjjxJQ8t9 Last edited by Zeke; 04-04-2020 at 10:38 AM.. |

I have never had a Mexican beer that came close to the beers offered here.
Beers like 'Bell's Two Hearted Ale' are miles above the Mexican offerings.
