Isn't that a Greek dessert?

The question is does a shop towel filter particles at N95 level?
Otherwise very nice and simple way to make them.

I have no real idea what the pore size of a shop towel is but I'd bet a goodly sum that it's waaaay bigger than a virus which are typically 20-400 ish nanometers.

Probably would need at least a double layer, which if you could still breath through would also provide a bit of a cardio workout.....

I keep reading this argument, that the virus is 300 nm hence a filter doesn't cut it. Let's clarify that the virus is not flying around by itself, 300 nanometers in diameter. They are attached to spit particles which are much larger. 10 um and up. Most are 100 um and up.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2843952/

So

a) an N95 mask will totally cut these particles and protect you to a high level
b) we are starting to wear face masks because we want to keep the spit IN

I'm just guessing, but I'd imagine a shop towel mask might filter better than coughing into your sleeve. Might be wrong, though...

Also, try finding a N95 in this town..."sorry, all are going to medical personnel only."

My wife has just finished making 50 masks for family and a few friends.

We will mail them off tomorrow morning since we're not traveling anywhere.

I showed the video to my wife this morning , 10 minutes later she produced two masks . They fit fine and I shared the video link with several family members . Can't hurt to know how to make these .

This has been floating around on the internet. Don't know how accurate it is or if it accounts for a virus contained in water droplets. As with anything on the internet, it may be questionable.

Here is a nice minimalist look.

Or if ya want some sparkle...

Mask, Gloves, hand sanitizer... Yep, all good.

Seriously, I watched one guy go into a store wearing a bandanna like a thief.

I've seen people ride their bikes wearing surgery masks.

This is all a bit over the top these days.

The paper clips in the folds give it a flexible nose fit. Keeps the air intake thru the mask instead of around it. Great job.

After watching my wife spend an inordinate amount of time building cloth masks, I sent her the attached video.

She loved it and she’ll have some made tomorrow I’m sure.
