I heard it on the radio. I'll see if I can find something.

Yep. https://time.com/5831351/threats-oklahoma-face-masks-stillwater-coronavirus/
I suppose we can also apply that logic to shirts and shoes? Yum. Makes me want head right down there. Last edited by group911@aol.co; 05-03-2020 at 10:44 AM.. |

Yep, the Stanford trial mentioned these four, 229E, NL63, OC43, HKU1, and that they could cause false positives in their antibody trial. Apparently, most people have been infected with at least one of the strains sometime during their life.

I have read about there being at least two distinct strains of Covid19 but it does not make sense that one is a "European version" since the outbreak in Italy was caused by the large number of Chinese migrant workers in northern Italy who travel back and forth to China. They are all Chinese versions.

If I was going to spend the day wandering around a garbage dump, I'd avoid touching things, I'd wear some light work gloves, and a face covering, adn i 'd wash my hands often. Wait, that's what Ive been doing since early March! I think its a good metaphor

there are more than 30 types of this particular virus; that is from a paper by Li Lanjuan et al. from Zhejiang University it is on medRxiv.org viral taxonomy is arbitrary, but it helps if we all use what the virologists do S & L for starters Last edited by RWebb; 05-03-2020 at 06:28 PM.. |

I mentioned those four because they are common earlier coronavirus that can be picked up in antibody tests and read as a positive for Covid 19. 19 is novel, or new.

those 4 are in the Covid family (~7 members IIRC) but are more genetically distinct than the 30+ which are all SARS-CoV-2
- I am biting my tongue to avoids using species, or genus here... besides the regular news media obscuring things, the more specialized media (WebMD) are culpable for muddying the waters a bit too |

I used WebMD only to show they were a past common coronavirus. I used Stanford to show those past coronavirus can affect antibody tests.

Today: Nothing. A ghost town. Every busines had an 8X11 piece of paper taped to the front door saying various things like CLOSED for the VIRUS, CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, CLOSED BY ORDER OF THE GOVERNOR. The only traffic I encountered was local people checking out the flooded areas because the Great Lakes are at record highs. And a few families riding bikes. I have never in 40 years seen anything like this. |
