It's crazy to apply a one size fits all approach to this. The jackasses can't even figure out how to keep the DMV open in a county with FIVE cases. One size fits all is for those who simply don't want to take the effort to think about how to maintain business in areas that have low population density. We could have been limiting occupancy of bars, restaurants etc back in March... but we had to shut everything down. It's a lazy way of doing things. Don't get me wrong I think social distancing is necessary but I live here, I went to Menards and Lowes and couldn't figure out why in the hell we were shutting down a small business when the big boys were operating like nothing was happening. We hurt a lot of small businesses because people in power were simply too lazy to think.

I don't necessarily disagree with it. The wild card now and for the foreseeable future is either someone from within going out and coming back with it or an outsider coming in. I don't agree that the big boys should have been operating business as usual either- which is why the big push to make them free from liability I suppose. Anybody operating should have been taking extreme caution in order to stay open.
Let us know how many people are actually taking it seriously when you're out. Quote:

Pretty much every State with a shelter in place order for the entire State. Michigan is a great example of one size fits all. Ohio is another great example. Like I said... pretty much every state with a State wide shelter in place rule.

You'll never stop someone from travelling out and bringing it back. We have to look at the most vulnerable and make sure we do everything we can to protect them while still maintaining some sense of "normal" for the majority that would survive getting this virus. I've been lucky. My business is "essential" since I sell farm and construction related products. I didn't have to close my business and to be honest wouldn't have if told to. I get maybe 10 customers per year coming to my place to see a machine. Last week I sold 3 machines. Of the three, one customer came and saw the machine.

a one size fits all approach would be at the federal level
states can do what they want - there is a LOT of circulation of the popn. within a state (except for varmint's maybe) or we can claim that anything larger than a zipcode basis is a one size fits all approach |

A one size fits all approach is looking at the spread in Cincy, Cbus and Cleveland and then applying the same rules to places like Kalida, Ottoville, Mandale, Delphos, Ft Jennings etc. It's lazy and honestly inexcusable. There's no reason a BMV in Van Wert County with a whopping 5 cases should be shut down like a BMV in Cleveland. It's lazy but it's easy. It requires no real thinking to just say "shut it all down". I expect my Governor and state legislature to actually think and then act... That's not happening now.

If KC had ever been part of the Island Band, then washing would not have done enough; you'd have to burn your kicks to properly cleanse those bisches after stepping in his leavings!!!

snickerYou read my mind Eric. Webb intends to mislead. The fact of the matter is that there are plenty of 'Shut' countries that did much worse than Sweden. But Webb says pay no attention to those.

the graph I posted is normalized for time and relates to similar countries
Eric's graph isn't - and was intended to mislead, as nearly all of isly's posts are |
