^^ The Night Gallery with Joan Crawford was directed by Steven Spielberg.

FYI: July 4th Marathon on cable H&I channel (Heroes and Icons).

They just aired a fav. of mine "The Lonely" with Jack Warden.

This TV show will always remain an American Icon!

To answer a 3 years old question...yes, called straight pool or 14-1. It was the championship game played during Willie Mosconi's era. Also the one played in the movie "The Hustler" with Paul Newman & Jackie Gleason.

"Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder" just finished. I was outside doing painting and came in just for the ending. I remember when I first saw it. Freaking heavy!

Sterling really had much to say abut our culture......and ALL of it is still pertinent today!

This is a jungle, a monument built by nature honoring disuse, commemorating a few years of nature being left to its own devices. But it's another kind of jungle, the kind that comes in the aftermath of man's battles against himself. Hardly an important battle, not a Gettysburg, or a Marne, or an Iwo Jima; more like one insignificant corner patch in the crazy quilt of combat. But it was enough to end the existence of this little city. It's been five years since a human being walked these streets. This is the first day of the sixth year, as man used to measure time. The time: perhaps a hundred years from now, or sooner. Or perhaps it's already happened two million years ago. The place: the signposts are in English so that we may read them more easily, but the place is the Twilight Zone.

Good actor from the 60s. I remember him from "Assignment: Earth" as Gary Seven, the human transported to an alien world and trained as a secret agent to help earth get through a tough spot to avoid nuclear war. Teri Garr was his unknowing secretary.

He was also in Twelve O'Clock High, the series that featured the B-17.

Eye of the Beholder - Woman is "ugly", except she is not. Everyone is always in shawdows/masks. And everyone is pig faced.

And then the one where the woman won't decide on her plastic surgery because she doesn't want to look like everyone else. And ends up choosing the "look" just like her friends.

So many good episodes.

The Outer Limits episoide where the alien spacecraft scoops a huge chunk of town and moves it to an alien world...very scary...
Bill Mumy was my hero when I was in 4th grade. I thought Babylon 5 was good sci-fi when it came out. Watched a few episodes recently- not such a big fan anymore. The soul catchers and Vorlons were interesting, though.

I'd like to see the Outer Limits episode you mentioned. Anyone know that name of that episode?

"They" have gone back to the original films, and remastered them in full high definition, and just gorgeous quality black and white. The visuals are stunning.

I was watching one scene and it was set in an era before pull tops on cans of beer. So the character uses a typical church key to open his beer and take a swig. In the new version it is obvious the bottom of the can has a pull tab. On TV of the era, no one would have ever seen it.

The entire series is, or was on Amazon for a fee that was not that bad as I remember. I watched all of the original series.

The way these productions are put together is amazing.

They're all such masterpieces!

Editorials in an entertaining yet educational manner.

The little distinctive "touches" the writers include as demonstrated by the wide array of talented actors and actresses.

Serling and co. were so far ahead of their time.....nothing has ever come close to this series....and never will, really.

It would be nice to watch it but we only have poor mans tv the closest thing we get is svengoulie so i havnt watched an episode in 20 years. Rod Sterling grew up local here in Binghamton NY so its mentioned alot on the news and such. I once aquired a dvd set of twilight zone but it turned out to be some modern version of it which was unwatchable.

Good one coming up...."Probe 7, Over and Out"

"Probe 7, Over and Out" was intended to air a week after the premiere of "Night Call," which was scheduled for Friday, November 22, 1963 — the previous episode, "Uncle Simon," having aired a week earlier on November 15. Hours before "Night Call" was to air though, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Thus it was rescheduled, as were all of the other network shows. As a result, "Probe 7, Over and Out" immediately follows "Uncle Simon" in original broadcast order. "Night Call" was eventually broadcast on February 7, 1964.

In the early 2000s, Twilight Zone historian Marc Scott Zicree recorded a commentary track with director Ted Post discussing this episode. The commentary appears as part of the 2016 Blu-ray edition.

The radio adaptation of this episode starred Louis Gossett Jr.

Thanks for this thread! I just started watching on Prime. I like seeing the actors from those days, and the old cars. There aren't a lot of them in the 5 episodes I've seen so far, but the very first one had a 1955 Dodge panel truck with a V8 badge on the front, meaning it had the short lived "semi hemi" engine (not one of Chrysler's better ideas). I wonder if any still exist today.

Thanks, Brian...good stuff.

That episode just started on H&I.

I switched over from SyFy because I didn't care to see the episodes they had scheduled.

Never had options like this before!

I'm working on organizing my motorcycle parts while watching....
