If she's that worried about cars hitting her kids playing in the street, then she should tell her kids not to play in the street. People don't belong in the street any more than cars belong on the sidewalk.

If you're on the social network "Nextdoor" you see people sticking their noses in where it don't belong every day.
Reminds me of Judge Judy or The People's Court - where the stupidity of mankind (as well as the pee-brained, self-absorbed, entitled disordered) is on display for the entire world to observe. Here one from today: Laura Lockwood , PUBLIX ALLOWING YOUNGER SHOPPER IN DURING SENIOR HOUR? I was at Publix today in the Shores for their 7-8 AM senior hour. Everyone had a mask on. Yeah!! However, a women who could not have been more than 30 or 35 was shopping. The only one without a mask. Is Publix not stopping them at the door? =============== Today is Thursday. It's Tues. and Wed. the seniors have that early time slot for themselves. But let's not let the facts get in the way of some good old-fashioned whining.... ![]()

I've also noticed a lot of dumbasses driving awfully fast on the surface streets and freeways now that there's so little traffic. Crisis times seem to bring out the best...and the worst...in people.

Yeah, can't fix stooooped people. I am not moving anytime soon until my kids go off to college. I am ready for a flat lot, single story house, a place where my car door doesn't kick me in the ass when I step off it. A bigger lot is very expensive and difficult to find in LA or its neighboring cities. Another 5-8 years, Tops. I am not sure if I still have the energy to go through an addition and a complete renovation (for someone else, yes because they are paying for it)? Being anal about houses, mine has the way I wanted but I really need to stop chasing my own tail. We are getting tired of the hipsters that continues to move into the hill. Here's a pic from the back side I took this morning to check if there's any land slide. I am in the green house hidden by the big bunch of trees. Hard to see, sorry. They are pie shape lots. I also own the light gray one that are exposed without any trees. My dumb "Trashcan" neighbor is the one with the reddish handrail or deck. When I come home, its quiet, with plenty of privacy. My property goes all the way down to the bottom so no one can built behind me and building restriction goes all the way up the other side of the canyon. I know many of you guys have huge acres of land, but here its very, very hard to come by. That's 3/8 of an acre and my next place will have to be a little smaller. I am more then likely be near the foothills north of Pasadena. ![]() ![]() |

They don't grow up that way. I truly believe they are born stoooopid. My sister lives in La Crcesenta. When I use to drive the 930 up there, her neighbor across the street would come after me, banging on the door if I am inside telling me to not drive that car because her kids are all playing "IN" the street. I am bearly crawling at 20 mph. She will say, "Those fast cars kill kids". How the hell do you respond to that? She does that siht each and every time she sees me in it. I finally had to say, "Maybe you should act like a good mom and not allow your children to play on the street because its dangerous". She gave me even more BS and walked away. Her husband came and we talked a bit. He was reasonable and actually apologize about his wife's behavior.

I’m working on one of my rentals in the Bay Area. No one bothers me and no one seems to care. Lots of people wearing out their dogs feet. Lowe’s is packed. Went to the dumps and it was a 15 minute wait to get in. Life goes on.

Pretty much a ghost town here in LA. I wanted to get hot lunches for my other guys working on my other job only to find out that they can't serve me because I don't have a mask on.

Thanks for posting those pics, Jeff. You live in a beautiful area. I love the lushness of it all.
This place is getting a little too crowded. My "medium range" exit plan is to rent my place out and travel. I still have my 97 year old Mom living nearby and my dog and my cat so for now I'm sticking around. Good luck getting your job finished up. The phrase we use around here in the trades is "Bust it out!"

![]() Something my friend told me once when my dad was in the hospital. He said, "At the end of the day, who's or what's more important? Family, that's it and nothing else." Take care of your mom and those fury kids of yours. Where would you go, travel abroad? |

My house sits up on a hill too....well not really a hill. A natural dune ridge. Here in Florida that's what we have for hills.....lol. Thanks for mentioning your Dad. I remember how devoted you were to him. Part of your legacy here....
