Just a thought, you can do without background music, and play the theme song track near the end when your video is wrapping up and things are coming together. Sort of like Steven Raichlen's BBQ University series on PBS.

Yeah, not doing that. Half my shots are timelapses, so they would have no audio whatsoever. I run a background track so it doesn't abruptly change from COMPLETELY 100% silent to background noise/my voice/tools. That would sound bad. Music helps keep it more consistent.

Just drop the volume below your voice level as noted.

When you were talking leakdown with numbers scribbled on the wood the music voice competed with your voice.

Your voice is soft and calming (no homo) so much easier to cancel it out vs. a Scotty Kilmer type voice.

As a side note the cartoon music voices SW speaks of has run it's course. Maybe its just me after watching too many Casey Neistat videos.

Bob, I think you're pushing 70, right? It's inspiring to see an older guy embrace technology and keep up with things. Really impressive. I hope to be like that

Seems weird to play super mellow tunes with hyperlapses/high energy sped up stuff. I dropped the music down way lower whenever I'm talking in this episode, let me know what you think:

Just finished watching - cool stuff! Music level didn't compete with your voice, so you're good there. Mellow tunes did seem a little odd with hyperlapse, but so what; your content is really good. I wouldn't stress too much on the music at this point.

Music was WAY more appropriate for the degrease episode. Well done! Thanks for doing this. Just no cartoon voices!
Must have felt to weight dragging such a light car out of the garage

That’s a great video and I think the changes you are making based on feedback continue to improve the presentation. One thing I would suggest is that when you introduce a product perhaps you could give a quick evaluation of it? For example, you talked about the degreaser gel — was it worth it? Better than the spray? It looked like it worked, but I’m not sure based on the time lapse if it was the gel or another spray that you used.

I’m really enjoying the series and your enthusiasm. I appreciate the content.

Saw the new video with lost audio. Could be a good chance for you to overdub narration. The top channels do this anyway, like ChrisFix.

63 but you just told me I am as old as the earth.

I am thinking of hanging myself but my hip joint hurts so much I can't get up on the stool.

Audio is wuh-hay better.

I actually liked this time lapse music.
Has an Alice in Chains with Slash vibe.
This is actually good playing.

Haven't been updating in a while; been making a lot of progress but not any good 'chunks' to make a video out of, so here's quick update on blinging out your upper valve covers for cheap:

Another update: MAN VS FAN

If you feel like laughing at someone flail around in failure over and over, please watch my video. This episode is definitely more of a comedy, had fun editing all the fail to something amusing and laughing at myself. I cannot believe how hard it was to get the fan off the alternator, jfc.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhDHlgBjrrA

FINALLY got it off in the end, and... idk... I might have even ****ed up the alternator removing it. It makes a slight interference noise when I spin it over, but that could also be yet another seed (see video for seed explanation).

Anyway, once it was off I polished my super awesome 5 blade fan that everyone hates, to prep it for powdercoating. Cannot wait.

That episode was fantastic. Every enthusiast who has worked at home felt your frustration, and your relief when it finally released. I loved it.

You use the fan pulley wrench as a counter-hold to be able to remove that nut.

Should have braced the wooden Stonehenge against the wall and used your foot to brace the other side.

The drift punch seemed to kick its ass. Seems the concentrated impact was more effective?
