If anyone is referencing this thread in the future, the best bet would be to cut power immediately and rinse the insides w distilled water, not regular bottled water, which contains minerals. Distilled water is what they use when manufacturing circuit boards to rinse them, it leaves zero residue and rinses really well. In theory, if you could rinse the Diet Coke, (or whatever), completely w distilled and let it dry, should be as good as new. In practice, it probably shorted something immediately when it got doused while running.

I just got one back from Apple yesterday, the cost was again $750 for the "upper unit." They will put your lower cover with the serial number on one of their repaired chassis and give you a year warranty.
