cool!!

what did you eat?

was the restaurant crowded? servers wearing mask/gloves? any logistical changes to some minimum safety standard?

i cannot wait until i can go out to eat. i am picking up on my take-out activities. my wifes health department is vetting restaurants for their food deliveries. i essentially go to those.

My county in Ohio has tripled in the past couple weeks... we had two cases, now we have six.

You can live in fear, pal. I’m going to just listen to the infectious disease specialists and follow their recommendations and hope for the best. I’m not the least bit afraid of dying but if I infected and killed someone else, I could never forgive myself.

It's amusing how the, "live in fear" accusations are such a common way to express opposition to something; the exact same thing is often said about the, "build the wall" crowd (knees a knockin' over brown fears) and the guns & ammo dudes (afraid of everything, even their own shadows).

Hey guys go piss in somebody else’s thread will ya? I have my beliefs, you have yours, and sadly the data on this thing is about as solid as religion so belief is about as concrete as we can get. About half of OT is threads to argue about this crap so have at it!

We went to a fine dining restaurant that recently transitioned to a new chef, who turned it into more of a high end bar. It’s been a favorite of ours for years and is now more affordable, so bonus! It was also a favorite of ours during the lockdown, we got takeout on average once per week. I had jerk chicken which was awesome, along with some Basil Hayden and a local Irish Red called Warbeard.

As for the cars, my wife has an E63 and I have an SL63, and neither are for sale.

You post a thread aimed at making fun of a questionable approach to the virus situation, that many out there think is the way it should be, and you don't expect push-back?

I wish I could protest, but the shutdown in AZ has been totally half-hearted. I still go out and see the people for my job. I don't own a restaurant, so I can't open in protest, even as a speakeasy. I've bought two guns in stores and gone to the range about four times during the "shudown." Looks like restaurants can re-open on my b-day, so I can get a free meal at Denny's.

We’ve had far more murders in Wichita that CV deaths. It’s not bad here and it never will be, this isn’t NYC. If you want to voice your opinion feel free to do so on another thread, you have your choice. I was trying to post something positive about living life in America. Be an adult instead of a keyboard warrior.

Your post is a perfect example of what is often so nutz about OT (and something that Fint likes to point out from time to time); you post a topic loaded with opinion about a current subject, high-five it with people that chime-in in agreement with you, but have no tolerance for opposition and even claim your thread is being victimized by anyone not falling in line. I would not call that adult behavior.

Go back and re-read the OP. He was enjoying the lifting of restrictions in his town, not flaunting a violation of a stay at home order.

Hey Matt - I hope you didn't take my post as anything other than humor - and if anything - I'm with you 100% on getting back on track with your life and doing what not only makes sense but makes you happy.

I appreciate all points of view on the subject but agree your post wasn't aimed at anything more than just sharing something positive - period.

Thanks for sharing and all the best!

This is not true. There are rather extensive social distancing measures that whole population is required to follow. Those who have hard time doing it (Somali population for example) suffer excessive deaths.

IKEA managers are not "shuttling to and from China". International travel is almost non-existent and a lot of work force (those who can) are working from home, me included.

I actually doubt Swedish model would work in US. Too many obese, diabetic people who do not like to do as being recommended "by goverment" and no public healthcare.

Well of course not now. But the point is Sweden is not immune from earlier contact with China ... which would raise exposure there before any suspected. And with schools and restaurants open... not like it is here. (closed closed)

And you're right, I keep thinking Swedes are like Norwegians (independent) but I suppose they are not. The Swedes all follow commands like well trained dogs. But at least they are not too obese.
