I want to buy your house...

WTF is their angle? I've received literally over a hundred of those damn cards, many with a google streetview pic in the past year...different houses, different counties, sometimes 2 a day. I may just tear my dang mailbox down...got a new one today...a vacant lot with no address...I want to buy your property .

BITE ME! ....that may be my new LLC or trust name to put 'em under...

BTW...these houses, etc. are nothing special, and I am very small potatoes....diced compared to some here

I just needed to rant..

Thank you

If they want to buy YOUR house why are they showing you pictures of houses in different countries?

Do they just mass mail to everybody on the tax records? It's gotta cost a small fortune, and it's non-stop...and I've done nothing to get on their radar fwiw.

It just doesn't add up....

I need some "NOT for sale" signs for the next google camera cars that pass

They probably work with someone at a title company who can give them zip code, and even neighborhood specific lists. There's also software which, based on algorithms of some sort, can predict, sometimes with remarkable accuracy, who's likely to be selling their home in the next 6-18 months. Seems as though they're getting it wrong with you.

Mailing "business class" (junk mail) to a single zip code is dirt cheap.

I'm always curious as to just what kind of an offer these leeches would make me, (I get about one a month at minimum) but I'm afraid to ask, because I have no desire to get put on a list that will get sent down to the boiler room. I have no patience for the hard sell.

A few I regularly receive for the house I live in seem to be from a legit RE agent...the rest are from what appears to be 10 or so entities....some arriving the same day, houses in different counties, but the same contact name/address.

They URGENTLY need me to call

We did a lot of direct mail advertising. The margins are tiny, but if you aren't in the game, someone else is.

They arent downloading anything.

It doesnt take much effort at all other than leveraging the google maps api. Probably matched with data from either google or facebook pixel.

Got texts for a few weeks. Replied I would be interested for $1,000,000 USD. They stopped pretty quickly. If I got postal junk mail with web or email addresses very often, I would try to contact them with a ridiculous amount I wanted to sell for to become a nusance and be removed from their lists.

I never answer unknown calls, nor will I ever respond to unsolicited mail....they come from at least 10 different entities....all with local addresses & phone #s to respond to.

Not worth my time...and I've got free time

I get hundreds each week (because I have houses in several states). Some of the "get rich on real estate" seminars picked up the old trick of searching tax records for houses that the owner's address does not match the property address...and target those with a lowball offer. Now, many, many neophyte real estate investors do this. The hope is that you either inherited the house and want to dump it cheap or that it is a rental that you are sick of and will dump it cheap. Generally they will give you a very lowball cash offer (or try to get you to carry it). Since they don't use a realtor or even insurance in some cases, and they have lowball contractors lined up...their overhead is relatively low and they can score pretty well if you take low enough price (below market). If you take their offer, they will clean it up a little and flip it.

I believe that’s called “junk mail” and should routinely go from mailbox to trashbox. Nothing to get upset about.

I cut up my address on junk mail (all mail actually) before trashing....it's a PITA

I also hate Spectrum and two other Internet providers...it's non-stop .
