Thats why I dont like to give away stuff for free that has any sort of sentimental value. But it doesnt help much to get money for it anyway. People would still treat it like sh@t. I do cleanouts sometimes and for many years just gave away the furniture items or burnt them. Last year found a consignment shop 50/50 split but a very high turnover rate they have sold 95% of the junk i brought in. Now i pick stuff up just to bring there. To answer your question yeah id be a bit miffed. We gave away a big old trunk at a garage sale to my next door neighbor she had a freind that suposidly collects them. Well it sat in her open garage for 6 months getting crapd on by barn swallows so i took it back and brought it to the consignment shop

One of Rod's buddies will probably run the damn table over with his boat, look at the table after and think didn't Rod have a table just like that one?

At my old office we would put "stuff" of all sorts out front to let people that wanted it have it. I got rid of two old cheap builder's grade toilets that I replaced from our house. They were gone in 30 minutes. All sorts of crazy stuff was someones new treasure. It was better than putting the stuff in the landfill.
We even got rid of a 60 inch wide solvent based printer. We had paid over 40 grand for it, but not even the manufacturer could get it to work when they sent the factory service guy to work on it. It went away in the back of a guys pickup. Some tweaker had lots of fun taking it apart.

when i bought my current home, there was a fridge in the garage. fairly new, and clearly recently cleaned.
i loaded it up and brought it to the office. i kid you not, a fight happened!! one guy, (now my supervisor) got aggro..i wanted to to put in our kitchen..everyone wanted it for their kids apartments, garage, etc. i just sat back and watch the idiots work it out. my boss won and it ended up going to LA where his niece just moved her from Afghanistan for her doctorates or something. i dont know how they determined a winner.
