Yes, the project was relatively affordable EXCEPT for the paint and body shop work. I learned a hard lesson there.

I got my first car when I was 14. Didn't run so I hauled it home with a rope. Learned auto mechanics on it. By the time I was 16 I had a nice car to drive. Sold it to a guy who kept it in storage for 25-30 years. Short story is I got the car back in the early 90's.
Finally finished the restoration back to original (almost) a few years ago. I put a cammed B motor in along with a B gearbox. 1st gear syncro makes a big difference.Still have all the original stuff. It's still a blast to drive on nice days.......
