O/T Brag alert: Lt was about a month ago, and she's spent the last two years as a NAV. She absolutely loves bridge standing, and thrives at ship handling and NAV, things many other LT's and others on up the line (surprisingly) do not share. And her FitReps are #1. That said, while I'm no chauvinist, I was reluctant for her to go to the Academy because I knew she'd do well and I know that a decision (like the one that's fast approaching) would come, and that she'd have to make a decision between biology and career. With the path she's chosen (SWO), her work ethic, perseverance and the brain God gave her, she is well on her way to being able to captain a ship if she wants to. But she's engaged to another fine young Naval officer, and thoughts of having a family (and control over her life) have begun a battle with career objectives. Of course, I have no control over what she chooses, nor should I, but it's difficult to know she's got tough decisions to make. Regardless, I trust she'll make the right decision for her. Brag over...
