How to destroy a vintage Mustang

This reminds me of the train debacle in Ventura.

Why would someone buy a car like this and then use what appears to be the cheapest possible mode of transport to get it shipped? Hopefully he was at least smart and responsible enough to get decent coverage.

I was expecting a bad restoration. This is sad.

I was expecting a J.C. Whitney Sawzall sunroof job. That's terrible.

I was there for the Ventura debacle. I had seen the cars on display, they were beautiful! Such a shame.

The real story is that the dealer bought at Mecum and flipped it for profit

All 356's and maybe one was a Carrera GT.
HOLY COW - PORSCHE TRAIN WRECK KILLS 3 SPEEDSTERS, AND MORE (Caution: Gruesome Pics).

On the Mustang, hey the passenger door gaps look good. Cut it in half and hang it on the wall.

I have no idea if that car was loaded properly by some other standard or what the cause of the crash was. But my trailering instincts would have put the car about ten feet to the rear. I don’t think there was enough weight on the trailer tires for the trailer brakes to be effective.

Interesting that there are two pickups in the crash pictures. Both of them appear to have flipped over.

Looks like the driver was going around a right hand turn and went straight.

14 hour drive. Wonder if the driver had a little micro nap?

The guys who haul these 3-car open trailers with 1-ton duallies are known as 'hot shots'. It can be a very sketchy business that skirts the rules required of bonafide truckers. Many don't have CDLs and are sometimes not even required to have one. They operate on razor thin margins. Don't know if that had anything to do with the subject, but it sure seems like a lot of these type truck-trailers wind up crashed.

The last 2 vehicles I had shipped turned up with drivers who appeared to be 20 at the oldest and both late at night. One appeared "medicated". There was no damage to the vehicles but it wasn't exactly reassuring.
