Gun newbie-where can I buy 9mm rounds online?

Is it possible and what’s the process? Is there a waiting period? Can they ship to home or not? Better prices online or pay for convenience?

Gun stores are busy as heck right now so lines are crazy long. I bought a pistol online and that’s a process. Same kind of red tape for ammo? Advice needed. Thanks,

I assume it depends on where you are. Here in Texas, there's not much to it, click, pay, wait for delivery.

I think there are hundreds more. I'm pretty sure I've purchased from one of those first two.

that's what I thought, but I couldn't remember for sure. That probably makes it a little more difficult, but I'm not positive. You probably can't buy more than 3 rounds at a time without getting a background check, psyche eval, and full physical including prostate check.

If you get a COE and a Type 03 FFL, the online ammo can be shipped right to your door.

What kind of pain in the ass are those to get? I assume pretty big.

Get in car. Drive to the nearest Gun store outside the borders of CA. Purchase ammo. Drive home contemplating how much your state sucks.

Then you are S.O.L. No on-line sales to Kalifornia. No on-line gun shop will sell to you. I suggest you take Harddrive's advice. Take the Porsche.

Basically, your state hates the public to be armed. And they have done everything they can to limit your ability to protect yourself. And now they have gone after ammo, turning your firearm into an expensive rock.

So in order to buy ammo online in CA you basically have to become a licensed federal firearms dealer? Oh really that’s it?! Amazing....

wildthing 06-09-2020 06:24 PM

California has effectively banned online ammo sales. You have to get fingerprinted blah blah blah.

Buy in bulk when you drive to a free state.

Cheaper Than Dirt is such a misnomer. Their prices suck in normal times, and they are always first to gouge on pricing when there's a panic buy going on. I was able to get 1000 rds. of Sellier & Belloit 9mm at my local gun store for $150 before this latest panic started. Otherwise, I subscribe to several email alerts - gundealsnewsletter, aimsurplus, CDNN and a few others. There are always huge sales going. The key is to stock up between the panics.

Yea and no...

https://caligunner.com/california-ammunition-laws/

What a cluster the place is turning into... just wait until they get rid of all the police. That’ll fix everything! 😜

onewhippedpuppy 06-09-2020 07:31 PM

Defund the police in a place where the citizens can’t defend themselves....what could possibly go wrong?:D

Porsche-O-Phile 06-09-2020 07:37 PM

Almost makes a guy think someone’s deliberately trying to create a crisis so that the state “can’t” fix it on its own so the federal government will simply HAVE TO send lotsa money there to pay for decades of irresponsible giveaway / vote buying programs... er... I mean “to deal with the crisis”. Yeah that’s it.

But of course there’s no way the leftist leadership in CA state government would EVER pull such an underhanded stunt after being told “no” to the federal government bailing them out... right? 😉

Let me guess. This will derail into a bash Califo......oh. Never mind.

I like these guys

But that is no help to a person in Californigrad

craigster59 06-09-2020 07:55 PM

Just look up your local gun shop, they'll have 9mm. Here's a flow chart to let you know what you'll need. Depends on if you've purchased a firearm recently...

Hey, even Elmer Fudd can't have a gun anymore.
