FedEx Ground routes are owned by third service providers and independent contractors. The quality of their service is tied to the attitude of the route owner and the people they employ.

always pay by CC. I recommend Discover.

Does not help if vendor insists it is a valid charge.

The new slogan is "Fedex when it absolutely has to arrive somewhere at sometime"

We ordered a set of Samsonite luggage just happened to be home saw FedEx out front so i walked out to receive the big package and he tried to give me and envelope. I looked at him and said this is not luggage. He was dumbfounded and said it is on the truck but could not find it the envelope was not even for me. What a run around luggage company had to send out a new set.

This makes sense, because FedEx in my area is just as good as UPS..but cheaper.
Not unusual to see FedEx trucks at any hour on the weekends.
I have never had a problem with them.

Falsifying Signatures

Today, I had a package that required a signature from Competition Engineering. Well somehow someone named SHEDGE signed for it and it wasn't me or my wife who were home at the time of delivery.

I found the package at the door. So, they are now falsifying signatures for receipt of packages.

My most recent shipping dilemma's have centered around our illustriously efficient USPS loyal public servants and their very high give a ***** coefficient (interpreted as sarcasm for those not detecting it).....I pray that any of my deliveries will be UPS or FedEx instead of USPS!

latest FEG experience--- ordered something from a national vendor who shipped it from their Sparks Nevada warehouse and it actually arrived on time. i was unable to get the part from any other vendor at the cost i was finding with the supplier i went with. what was different? the parcel went through their Sacramento hub, and it was delivered directly to the installer 15 miles down the hill from me in town.

so, what im finding is the delivery contractor that delivers up the hill where i am that originates from the Tracy CA hub is likely my problem. second part coming from back east is scheduled to arrive tuesday at the shop in town. i will be cringing if it is hubbed out of the Tracy facility, but will be a great case study for me in determining if it's the hub, or my rural delivery address.

COVID "allowed" them to change the rules. Signature required no longer "requires" them to collect a signature. The drivers just sign off on it themselves.

OK. This one started for me today and is still evolving.

I have a package inbound to my house from my employer that was shipped via FedEx. I received an email notice from FedEx that the package had been delivered.

The notice listed:
Delivered to WRONG ADDRESS
Received by MMARK

Further down in the email it had:
To
My name
My CORRECT ADDRESS

After going through their IVR a few times, I finally got to speak to someone. The first guy appeared to understand the problem that they had created. He logged my call and gave me a case number. He said that someone would get back to me in 2 hours.

About 30 minutes later, I received another call from FedEx. This guy wanted to know the color, style and layout of my house which I provided. Then he wanted to know if I heard any of their trucks nearby. At this point I said, "You clearly delivered the package to WRONG ADDRESS and it was signed for by MMARK. My address is CORRECT ADDRESS. It should not matter what my house looks like as long as your driver can read the big numbers on my house. What else do you need to get my package delivered to my house?"

He then said that they would contact the driver to see if the package could be retrieved from the improper recipient. Then he told me that if I had not received the package within the next two days, I would need to contact the shipper. I pointed out that this is clearly a FedEx screw up. I asked why is it my requirement to get involved to make this right. He just told me that this is the procedure.

This is unbelievably frustrating.

I hate to think of what I'm in for now.
I bought a Da-Lite screen off the Goodwill site in Minnesota. It was supposed to be delivered today up at my brother's place in Templeton as it is for him.
Delivery tracking shows it was on a truck in Santa Maria at 7:48AM out for delivery. At 10AM it says they can't locate the recipient.
Funny, UPS has no problem finding his place but FedEx just can't seem to do it.
I get to work the problem tomorrow as everything is closed up there now.

Lately, Amazon is the worst.

Something will track fine, until it reaches the local delivery. Then tracking just stops. After a few days, I'll get a message from Amazon, "Opps, something happened. Do you want a refund?"

All shippers have issues , the volume they ship every day is mind boggling . About 4 weeks ago I sold a harness bar I had left over from my 911SC days . I am in GA. and the buyer is in Ca. and I used a UPS Store to ship . After about 5 days I decided to check the tracking number to get an update . Online tracking stated the label had been created and that's it ........... uh oh :( . That was a Friday and I got busy so couldn't contact the shipper until Monday , but I did contact the buyer stating there may be an issue .

On Monday I contacted the shipper and while on the phone with him I noticed I was provided two tracking numbers for one package ........... uh oh :( . I gave both tracking numbers to the shipper and after a few minutes on hold he stated he thought the package was lost  . So he started a " search/find " investigation . Two days later I get a PM from the buyer stating the part was delivered but the package was opened ! Seeing that it was basically a steel rod with adjustable ends we quickly determined it wasn't damaged and it was all there . Case closed we were both happy .

As of this morning the UPS website say's they are still trying to find the package :D . So this package went from GA. to CA. without EVER being scanned that is scary . I don't understand how that is possible . Basically that say's that EVERY scan point across the nation didn't do their job . At least the package made it ;)

The couple that live one block away from me have the same address number but of course a different street name. We get each others packages often enough that we exchanged phone numbers and do a package pickup several times per year.

I had one package dropped on my porch and it was addressed to a business that is about 4 miles away. Not one thing on the address was even close to my address, not one thing. It was like they just decided I needed a random package. I called the business and told them if they would like the package I have it, and they are welcome to pick it up. They sent a manager over to pick it up. He said he was going to call UPS and ream them out, and I told him he will be yelling at some employee that had nothing to do with it. It was just some driver that missed dropping the package at the right place, and did not want to go all the way back there and be that far behind. So he dumped the package at random and said it was delivered.

I had an issue with Amazon last week. I received my new 3D printer but the filament was on a separate truck. I checked online and realized I can now track the truck with my package. It showed I was 6 stops away!

I checked in ever so often to watch the truck get closer to my office. Then it passed my office and was at a neighborhood next door. Then it came back toward my office so I went downstairs to stop them only to watch the truck turn around at the front entrance and leave! Then I tracked the truck go off to another neighborhood and my delivery time slowly increased to 4 then 4:30 then 5 and finally to 10pm. We close at 5pm so no getting my package before the weekend. I was pissed.

I started the drive home and then I realized, I know where the truck is! I followed the tracking to the truck and retrieved my package. Finally a happy ending ;)

Scott Douglas 11-24-2020 07:39 AM

Tracking this morning says the package is out for delivery again today so we shall see what happens. My brother's place is hard to find, heck, I had a hard time the first time I went to see him. Had to have him park his truck out at the road to find his driveway.
I hope it makes it today as there's another package coming in the next few days too.

Pray for me - I have something coming by DHL

Scott Douglas 11-24-2020 03:04 PM

Just thought I'd update to say my brother received his screen today. They left it down the hill at the gate. At least it wasn't out at the gate by the road.
