Did I miss something? It's obvious from tonight's episode that Monica's radiator hose breakdown was a setup to dispose of the scumbag driving the utility truck. I just don't remember his face or if we saw what he did in a prior episode.

Did we see anything in a previous episode that informed us of this upcoming setup?

Monica and Casey were part of a search party for a missing reservation girl. They found her body in a ravine. This really bothered her and she agreed to be bait to catch the guy that was killing the reservation girls.

Probably followed the truck but stayed far enough back to remain unseen by the purp.

That sniper rifle had a fairly long range so they could do that.
