Speaking of 356s, this local one was just pulled out of a 30 year slumber.

I bought one for $800 back in 1972. Did a valve job then sold it for $1700. Boy do I wish
I still had that car.

Same here. Appears as though if the top goes down, the dollars go up!

Jay is lucky in that his shop is just a short jump from some great roads.

I used to live in Tujunga, often seen in Jay's videos and not far from Angeles Crest Hwy, Big Tujunga and Little Tujunga Canyon roads.

The show Jay Leno's garage is a great one to catch each week. Of all the Hollywood celebrities or celebrities on the planet, Jay is the top of my list as the guy I would like to spend a day with.

I love my 911 for it being just a more modern 356. It is modern enough to drive across country, it does have AC and good heat and cruise control. But no ABS, power steering and certainly no Jimcrackery!

The oldest Porsche ever sold new in the USA is owned by a friend of mine. It is here in Oklahoma City. Super nice car, it has been restored and looks great. It is a car that the Porsche AG folks have borrowed to haul out to California and do a full photo shoot like they do for the new cars. They used it for some advertising pieces.

Hey Byron, what’s the story with that 356? I’m not normally into the patina thing, but that one looks nice enough to just clean up and drive.

It's the dim light that makes it look like a darker red. It's actually fairly bright. Original color was Irish Green according to the COA.

There were some photos in the glove box from when the pan was replaced and body work done.

Also - I got a call from a fellow in Virginia who runs a Porsche shop. He ran across a couple boxes of paperwork on a couple 356 Porsches - and it included a whole couple folders on mine. He mailed them to me and they go way back to one of the original owners. Found me because I'm in the 356 Registry. Pretty cool.....
