Are they really that ugly ? Honda Crosstour

I posted in the wrong forum earlier.
Im back to smoking the Honda crack pipe . I got an Accord for a beater last year, and love it . 30 some mpg, its faster than my boxster, and its a Honda. Tires, brakes , oil changes, and light bulbs . No drama car to own .
I have been eyeballing the crosstour . It was mentioned quite a few times in the " car you would never own thread "
I could pack a bunch of tools in there, or luggage, stuff the family in it etc.
It about as un-car guy as you can get , but I don't really care, I am looking for an appliance car . I kind of like the uniqueness .
O.k, let me have it , how much do you hate it ?

They're just as ugly here as they are in PARF.

I think it looks pretty anonymous. By today’s standards, not terrible looking.

First time I saw one I thought why did they make that. They squished an SUV which compromise utility anyways. I say its a total dud. Surely a nice piece of machinery but why?

Get a used Odyssey.

I vote on the used odyssey. Still faster than your boxster and you could put engines and transmission and all your tools and still have room for friends (if you have any)

Ugly cars have fewer buyers, therefore lower prices.

Go for it.

$8500 with 102K on the ODO seems like a lot to me. And that fuel mileage in the FBMP listing if correct isn't all that impressive. I'd go Rav4 over that all day.

I owned one for a few years and liked it. Forgot exactly why I got rid of it. It definitely had nothing to do with the car and likely another kid or two. Got love for the hatchback.

I have an '11 Accord V-6 coupe with the HFP option added to it.

That mileage is impressive IF you remember that car is 4wd too. It's an 'L' model too so that should be fully loaded with all the bells and whistles.
The biggest (-)negative I can see is that it is black. I can't imagine being happy with a black car in snow country, but maybe that's just me.

I'd hold out for a V-6 model myself.

Have you ever driven a 3.5L V-6 model Accord?

I've driven my car across country, well to KC, and got mileage that you wouldn't believe at times. For my whole trip I avg'd 29 mpg, including my time fooling around in KC for a week at my buddies wedding.

They were more oddball when they came out than they are now. Who cares? They look okay and practical. Put flames on the front end and you'll be fine.

I like the Crosstour. It's a roomy luxury Accord except a hatchback with 6" clearance. Sorta like a more dependable Subaru. The nav screen is smaller than the Prius but is set back with no glare. Looks like voice commands for everything. And heck yeah that Ikea couch will be hanging out the back.

At 102k it hasn't even reached the first major tune-up at 105k yet.
Change the trans fluid/rear diff fluid, coolant, check the brakes/tires, oil/filter/spark plugs/timing belt and you're good to go another 50k min with just gas/oil and tires.

(Can you tell I like Honda's?)

BMW had something similar. It didn’t know what it wanted to be.

Honda has decent reliability so gopher it.
