Recommended cologne for a 60 year old

So I am "out' with a female friend. I figured I'd step up my game and put some of my kid's cologne on just for fun.

She says, "I like it but try something more age appropriate." Ouch!

She has a valid point.

Old man cologne? Old Spice is all I know.

I usually hook up with her wearing my scruffy shop gear as I sometimes help her with her work right after I am done with mine.

So if the stars align and I have time to scrub up and put on an unsoiled outfit, what cologne should I wear?

I don't need to "burn her down". Just provide a hint that I can clean up a touch.

Stetson baby!! Or spritz some WD40 under your pits.

But really, see if you can find some Polo Green. Keep in mind though that is is coming from someone 11 years your younger.

FWIW, every list of top classic colognes seems to have Polo Green on the list. Aramis is another I saw that I used to have but I don't recall being overly fond of it.

Irish Spring followed by a nice neutral pit roll.

That’s all I have. I have never spritzed cologne.

Edit: Good for you regardless. Being “out” is a good thing!

And get his O2 sensor checked! His emissions might be a bit rich.

Hey Bob......

I don't know what you had - the "kid's cologne"......but I've always had good results with Obsession for Men by Calvin Klein.

At one point I had the after shave balm and the deodorant as well as the cologne which gave me several options.

Never had a complaint - but some very good results.

This product is a classic so should be just waht you are looking for. If you get any complaints....get rid of her and get another!

Proraso, or Chanel.. My s/o gives off handed comments when I wear a little dab... She like them... and isn't that what matters?

I'll chime in & try to be serious. I'm 69 & not in the dating world. I've used this for years. Women always seem to ask what it is. I only use it now for dinner dates & the occasional meeting. After all these years, the wife still likes it too. https://www.google.com/shopping/product/12285134225931055095?q=joop+cologne&sxsrf=ALeKk03zFveGaCDq0nFVK0mm_DxPRNeB7Q:159546453 4520&biw=1292&bih=611&prds=epd:16965128980873857718,prmr:3&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjUz6TakOLqAhUJJt8KHduXABkQ8wIIogU

I wear this one. Pretty simple. Perfect blend of new smells with old school. I’m not gonna pretend to know how to pronounce it.

Eau des Baux Eau de Toilette

She is fiercely independent so I think I will snag a couple of those recommended to show I am giving it a whirl and then drop the favor request on her. She might get a kick out of it.

Good idea.

There is no one scent. Depends on time of the year and where you are going. Formal, sporty, etc. A general good scent this time of year would be something like Nautica Blue or classic. Will fit most Spring/Summer occasions.

During the day go with Hermès Orange Verte. At night go with Chanel Platinum Egoiste. The second one is a little on the strong side, so don’t overdo it.
