"Problem areas?"

The entire car.

Tried to help a nice lady sell hers last year. Subframe mounts had all failed. Estimated cost to repair was $3800 -- more than the car was worth.

If you like it, and it drives okay, and the price is right, buy it. When the guy next door stopped driving, he sold his '69 Cougar in a few hours. His widow still has the 380SL in the garage. Soft demand for them should equal good sales price.

Strange thread.
Let me start by stating I don't give a flying flop if that car is purchased or not, it's his money and his biddness.
I personally would not consider that something I would care to get into but that is irrelevant.

But ...... many people with experience or knowledge of the subject had advised the OP in this thread NOT to purchase that vehicle.
They felt the OP would be making a mistake by buying it and have suggested alternatives they they feel would make more sense and be more rewarding and less costly. They offered those suggestions because they felt they were doing the OP a favor, helping him avoid a bad choice and steering him to make a better choice.

But that somehow is not helpful, and frowned upon.
IOW the filter is on, they are only allowed to tell him what he wants to hear.

It appears he has already decided to purchase the car and is wondering what problems he is likely to have?
If that was stated from the getgo it would have made his a much shorter thread.

He asked what are problem areas. TW posted that he tried to selll a car like that one but it had a big problem area, the rusted subframe.

The OP asked what the problem areas are, TW sad the subframe is a problem area as it can rust and basically total the car.

What am I misssing? From where I'm sitting, he answered the question. Maybe it was the way he said it?

Please stop. There is so much assumption in this thread it's crazy.

I asked for advice on a specific car that I am going to look at. I didn't ask for alternatives, I didn't say I was going to buy it, I didn't say I was going to daily drive it, I'd didn't say I might flip it, etc, etc.
