Why you don't leave your phone
On the tailgate of your truck. Wallet and phone on the gate, loaded the wheels, shut the gate, iPhone 6 got crushed in the hinge. Only good part is I've been trying to make an appointment at the Apple store to buy an 11 Pro for 2 weeks now.
What was neat about it is the phone was working all on its own, making calls, texting people, opening up apps. Then it sort of froze. ![]()

I thought this was about "Why don't you leave your phone number so I can hear it."
Too many people call and ask me to call back, and recite their number so fast there is no way I can capture it and then immediately end the call. When I call someone I tell them who I am and what my number is, then I leave my message, then I tell them my name and number again - twice. Sorry about your phone.

I had a screen not quite that bad, covered with clear packing tape and I could still use phone.

Today was an expensive day. Micro DA and cerium oxide polishing a dull but complete orange bar badge. So buying a phone for me and a good badge for my customer.

Ouch, are you saying the orange bar chipped out while you were polishing? And you trashed your phone?
You should go buy a lottery ticket, because you haven't used any good luck for anything else today. My wife left her phone, we think, on the car once in the grocery store parking lot. (this was WAAAY back in the early days of smart phones, with a G1, the first Google phone) I was able to find it using GPS. I went back to the parking lot. It had been run over and thrown in the trash, but still sort of worked (power, showed incoming calls, etc...).

Or put it on the trunk of your wife’s car while you are washing your own car, and then she leaves to run and errand.
![]() I was able to find it though using Find my iPhone.

Wife sat hers on the ledge of the trunk on our W212 and slammed it. Similar results. That was after she left it on the roof of her car and drove away. Similar results. This is why she gets my old phones.

I’m still using a 6. I’m holding out for some spectacular new feature before upgrading. The 11 is kind of meh.

That looks pretty cool. Someday soon I'll be getting a kiln so I can restore orange bar badges with correct enamel and gold plate.

8 was meh when I looked at it. 11 is substantially better and the Pro is the perfect size, but I did just look up when the next Apple release date and it's late September so I may get a cheap 6 and wait and see what comes out.

A kiln seems like the sort of thing you would already have one of.
Trying to make an appointment for two weeks is good because you are so busy?

Seems like a dead trannie in the back of a truck in Texas would start to smell bad pretty quick
