I fell sorry for the Cape Buffalo, but then feel sorry for the lions!

Some of these youtube nature videos are hard to watch. There will be a lone Cape Buffalo with two or three lions on him. And he's exhausted and near death. Then several of his buddies show up and just fling the lions in the air like rag dolls!!

Sometimes the lions just lay there. Sometimes the Buffaloes leave them alone, but sometimes they flip them in the air again!

Maybe the lions should stick to gazelles, zebras, and the occasional warthog.

Nature is harsh. It care not at all what is cruel or not in the search for food. Everyone loves littl lion cubs and lions in the wild, but they only eat meat.

I have seen similar video of bison fighting back against wolves. Mama bison can put a deadly hurt on a wolf.

:d

I'm always a little surprised when the board decides that I'm not allowed to post a "word" in all caps, like FIFY. When I type it like that at the beginning of the post, it ends up as you see with only the leading cap.

I also apparently can't post -, at least not 2 lines up.

We did a safari near Kruger national park in SA. Our guides carried huge rifles, can't recall caliber, .4 something...

The only animal they steered clear of were Cape Buffalo. Lions did not phase them a bit. But they would stay at least 100 meters from the Buffalo.

Having spent time growing up in Kenya, and then visiting as an adult multiple times (my wife just returned from there yesterday), have seen may battles and standoffs between Buffalo and Lions. Have yet to see the lions prevail, though I know they sometimes do...

Cheers

Probably 416 Rigby..

I don't think 458 Win Mag...they would go to a 505 Gibbs or 500 Nitro Express..

a 505 Gibbs will knock one of those Cape Buffalo's right over..they are dead before they hit the ground.
