Is the word "happy" political or religious?

I'd love to hear someone explain.

Depends on the context. It has no inherent political or religious meaning.

No doubt your question arises from an incident where in a (job) Wanted Ad was removed because asking for a “Happy” Hair Stylist is discriminatory against “unhappy” hairstylists.

https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/hair-salon-job-posting-happy-hairdresser-discrimanatory

I’m hoping most people see this incident as ridiculous.

Neither, or both. It's a state of mind, and a decision. I'm happy.

I only found 3 websites that mention this story...FoxNews, Breitbart, and BBC.

Of those 3, only one of them apparently bothered to follow up on the story, where it was seen that the Government agency quickly admitted that it was a mistake, and allowed the ad to remain.

Huh. Sounds like a tiny paperwork mistake in some crappy little Brit town, which was reconciled quickly as soon as it was seen to be an illogical process. If it wasn't for internet nannies watching and whining over every little thing that happens, none of us would have ever heard about this.

They did have to change the name of the Hair Salon from "Molehills and Moppets" to "Mountainous Caverns of Chicanery".

Much of the Happy Cowboy movie from a few years ago was filmed around where I live. I have not seen said movie but I know that the wedding church and the ball diamond where the ‘drive in movie scene’ were shot are less than 2 miles from my land.

I think I know where they were going with the term ‘Happy Hairdresser’...

What a perfect illustration of American culture today.

People seem to love bright shiny things with no substance.

They love soap opera style narrative dripping with confirmation bias.

They are easily misled and do as little as possible to educate themselves. Forget low hanging fruit, they prefer fruit delicately placed in their open mouths, always wanting more to reaffirm their herd mentality.

and so on.

We are truly domed.

The entire thing is just so over the top silly. Some government bureaucrat with the "I am from the Government and I am here to help because I know best" attitude makes a really stupid decision, because that is what the bureaucrats do best, and the media mostly ignores.

Only a few sites pointed out how silly the entire thing is. The emperor wore no clothes, and only a few sites bothered to point it out. Most of the media thought it was a normal event.

This is a great example of confirmation bias. Most of the media didn't cover it because it's a non-event. It's only an event as part of a soap opera narrative to keep you entertained and reaffirmed as part of the flock.

Michael's dead sister's husband is having an affair with Mildred whose baby is Michael's = happy hair stylist ad.

Same same.

Personally I resent the insinuation that I am a member of the “flock,” or a “flock.” I can assure you, I am fully capable of coming to my own conclusions based on the facts presented. It is a quality inherent to senior military leaders.

We could easily mix it up with how certain media outlets have “selective reporting” when the story does not fit their agenda.

However, that can be discussed over in PARF, in the meantime let’s attempt to stay on topic.

Poppycock. Your bias is so obvious there to everyone but you.

The event is that someone in a position of authority somewhere thought this was an acceptable thing to do. Due to the way employment is set up in the third world this is the same as a person working for the federal - not state - government issuing that edict here.

Im not sure I’d describe that as a non event.
