i physically CRINGE when i realize my package is coming FEDEX!!

i am 100% not successful. not even once.

i have to send to my office. weekends we are closed. one try and they will tell me that have attempted their FINAL delivery try..and it will be going back to the seller. they tried to deliver SUNDAY.

one try!!

i managed to get them to drop it off at one of their offices, so i can grab it tomorrow. i am going to pre-check all purchases from now on. if it is Fed EX i am cancelling the purchase.

FedEx dumps their daily delivery load for both of the two joined apartment buildings I live in into the foyer of a single building - the building I don't live in. Other carriers put my package in front of my door.

I use FedEx for work every week, multiple times.
I mostly use their "Hold for Pickup" option at one of their ship centers.

I'd recommend finding the one closest to you that has hours that fit your needs and give that a try.

Whoever you are buying from should be fine with that shipping option. It's actually more secure than leaving it on your porch.

I always use hold for pickup. Only about a mile out of my way.

I talked to a guy in Atlanta today about sending in a part for repair. He said turn around would be 2 weeks to 3. Since it's an odd part they send out an empty prepaid box, fix it and return. Their internal turn around is one day, the rest is FedEx.

Many horror stories for me due to FedEx.... Nearest location is nearly 1 hour away. I always check to see who vendor ships with and typically will pass on order if they use FedEx..... UPS is great and I have a normal route driver and he always leaves my packages in a good spot and knows my dogs are friendly. Love UPS... Hate FedEx. Local post office is is fine if it fits in my mailbox. If it doesn't, I have to pick up at local post office which is only open until 11:30 most days. Did I mention I hate FedEx.

I'm ok with USPS, FedEx and UPS. The one I have a problem with is DHL. Three times I have had them leave parcels in my driveway. Those three times, I came home very late at night to find my parcel sitting in the driveway or in the bushes. What was in there? Expensive watches!

I wonder if there are any data on package damage rates for the different carriers.

I know people have put recording thermometers in wine boxes to track what is going on.

FedEx is usually the best (lowest rates) WRT to lost and damaged packages. Maybe it's a regional thing as I've had great results with FedEx, relative to UPS and USPS.

I rarely have to ship or receive with anyone other than Amazon and Lone Star Overnight. I know Amazon utilizes 3rd party carriers, but I've never had an issue, and rarely know who delivers the parcel.

Lone Star Overnight is amazing! I have had an account with them for over 10 years, and use them exclusively for intrastate shipping. I can drop off at a location (never have), schedule them to pick up, or just leave the package with all the other stuff leaving our dock at work. Nothing has ever been damaged and I've never had to track a package.

Only down side to LSO, they aren't nation wide.

If you sign up with a FedEx account, I am pretty sure you are able to schedule and/or delay deliveries...even within specific hourly windows in some cases (Express packages, etc.).

We get deliveries from FedEx, Amazon, and USPS on Sunday. UPS might even have been here on a Sunday, but I’m not sure.
