It's So Smoky! I Can't Breathe

It's really, really smoky. We are hundreds of miles from the bad fires but the smoke is covering the entire state.

Yesterday, I thought the dirty air was related to the almond harvest as they are shaking the trees and that produces tons of dust. I did not smell any smoke in the morning but after work it was awful and smelled like a fireplace. Today is even worse and some employees have complained that some ash is coming in thru the vents.

I will say....wearing a mask is probably beneficial at keeping some of the particulates out of your lungs (not just the virus).

This is a direct view of the Sierras, which are about 20 miles away. Normally you can see the mountains and snow capped peaks:

This is looking up at the sun at 5:30 pm yesterday:

Wow, crazy.

Looks like you need a good mask.

Sorry, couldn't help it.

That's some crazy pollution. Looks like you need to stay inside until the wind changes.

When I was stationed at Norton in SoCal, this was our usual summer view of the mountains from 9am until dinnertime.

On a side note, the pics are kind of cool. The Cayman looks great sitting there. If it was a slightly more scenic view (minus the fence, maybe) it would be a very cool photo.

And the perpetual sunset look is cool and unusual.

Same in Colorado....

There is actual ash; chunks of it falling like snow in Grand Junction.

Denver smells like a campfire.

If you really want to scare your lungs....
Take a green handheld laser pointer and point it up, avoiding any aircraft, after dark.

See all those shiny particles? Your breathing them.

Wow !

Reminded me of how the skies looked in Anchorage AK last summer during the fires.

Hope you get some decent rain soon to put out the fires,

It's almost like we're having a solar eclipse down here in the OC.
Our solar powered fountains are having a hard time even though there aren't any clouds.

We won't get 'rain' for at least 2-3 months from now I'm afraid.

Our mandatory evacuation was revised to evacuation warning. Funny thing is, it’s not very smoky here close to Nevada City. Good to be home.

This is the wrath of God being visited upon a Godless Socialist state that denies the existence of God.

These two goobers grinding the floor made it hard to see the house. I wasn’t happy when I saw they didn’t wet the floor, use a vacuum or cover anything with plastic.

you hire a clean up co. to do what they should have done, and deduct that from the goober's payment
