![]() Actually, I poo-poo'd those things for years until my son said I was old and set in my ways...try these. He was an insouciant 20 years-old. Jesus, the clouds parted, the sun shinned, Angels sang...you get the picture. My absolute go to tool. BTW, you call me old again and I'll...is dinner ready?

I have one in my drawer, and one in my truck, use it all the time. I use it to cut my toe nails outside. My vision started going about 6-7 year ago when my workman said, " see that pipe there, its leaking a bit from the bottom." I went looking for the flashlight. He said, "How can you not see it. Its right there?" That when I knew I'm an old dude, like you ![]() I spend a lot of money on those head lamps. Zebra Light is what I buy. You can chose the beam spread from the factory, narrow for distance, but all mine are wide spread with even lighting 10' dia. So its daylight anytime you need it but the light doesn't bounce back to blind the user. Last edited by look 171; 09-16-2020 at 11:14 AM.. |

Granted, you won't actually find the ones that drop/roll/bounce away, or are left in engine bays, but they make searching for them much easier. ![]() |

I use this more than any other tool. The bit set makes it even more useful. Chipped a blade once and they just gave me a whole new one. Well worth the $100.

I got my first one about six months ago and I don't know how I lived without it. MrsWD snagged my first one for her sewing room so I went out and bought three more. They do burn through batteries though. I thought about getting a rechargeable, but I don't want it to be on the charger when I need it, so I bought some more Eneloops and keep a set on the charger so I can swap them out when the light starts to go dim.

Checking timing on a VW Golf at dusk (car work was a no-no in that complex). and put my hand on the transmission for balance. The plastic inspection port cover was open and I somehow stuck it inside and caught the flywheel briefly. Only lost a fingernail, but that is a reminder that moving things are dangerous. Doing work in the dark sux. Nails. Holes. etc
