Thanks Vash.... I doubt it did BUT it sure has been fun so far.

Santiago and Luciano are having a great time with getting their hands on stuff in the garage.......

"Papi.... vamos a trabajar en la moto ahora?" (Papa are we going to work on the motorcycle today ?)

In case anyone noticed the jacket on the floor and the cut out (pic above).... funny story and right in line with the build idea...... so i was looking for Leather to wrap the seat in...... and it was a bit pricey for the guesswork i was going to be doing..... like a few hundred bones for the material i needed...... and I was supposed to take scissors to that? no no no senor.....

SO I WENT TO A SWAPMEET !...... hahahahaha I bought a really heavy beat up old jacket for $4..... yes four dollars ! it was big enough to do the seat and its heavy leather !!!!!! (since i knew i was gonna jack it up and mess up alot i ended up buying 2 jackets... the other for $2. as a back up just in case!

the metal strip i used for the middle was a hanger for a x-mas wreath, took a big hammer to it and straightened it out and shaped it to the slope of the seat pan. so that was free. it was hanging in the garage for years and years.

the bolts....... they were on my work bench......... free !!!!!

on a scale of 1-10...... i'm thinking maybe a 5.5 or a 6.

My HD has a small metal badge on the back of the seat, near where my tailbone is. During the summer every once in a while, it is like sitting on a small piece of lava.

And it is not near my nuts, so just be careful those do not heat up in the sun then tattoo a bolt head pattern to your ballsack through jeans.

Looks like a great start. How old are your boys? If they're up to it, you might try the "hands in the pockets" approach - Your hands are in your pockets, their hands are on everything (until they really need help or a third hand to steady something). Lots of learning opportunity there - OK to work with your hands and head, reasons to use math skills, reasons to research alternatives, etc.

911Boost............. thanks for the insight and i will certainly be aware, dont want any branded balls for sure!

Fanaudical: my boys are little...... 6 and 4.......... i need to make sure THEIR hands are in their pockets as they are still a little young to be doing actual work......... good idea though.

meanwhile:

all done !
