Buy the Rossi or wait for Marlin
Marlin is now owned by Ruger. I want a .357 lever rifle. I'm not spending megabucks on a Winchester. I can get a Rossi 16" for under $600 or I can wait a while (next spring?) and get a Marlin.
Thoughts?

Do both! Buy the Rossi now and keep looking for an older Marlin to appear.... like the very next day.

I bought my son a Henry 38/357 for his birthday. He absolutely loves it great fun to shoot and very accurate. The only issue is .38 ammo jams up from time to time but .357 is no issue at all.

My take: Don't buy the Rossi if it's built like their .44 rifle. No bueno.

If you can find one, a Browning B92 is a great lever action. They made them in 357 and 44 Mag. I kick myself for selling mine.

I'm kinda shopping for the same thing - no Marlins available around here. Ran across a used Rossi but the fit/finish was not great.
