Beautiful, Denis. Still green here.

I can't find the old pictures, but one of the true benefits of being a helicopter pilot was Fall leaf runs into the mountains when I was flying out of Pax River and flights into Mass, New Hampshire and Vermont when I was at the S Factory.

It was like flying 500 feet above a multi-color quilt.

We had some nice colors this year. Peak was a few weeks ago. Trees are mostly bare now.
Didn't take any pictures this year so a photo of our town i found on line will have to do.

The tree in the pic is a hardwood maple..but it's on it's last few years. (prob 90 yrs old)

I have a similar sized black walnut tree that is dropping it's fruit every day. I have shoveled up at least a dozen wheelbarrows full of nuts in the last few days.
If I don't pick them up....they get ground into the lawn by the tractor...and that just makes a mess.

A pic of the Black Walnut tree...most of the leafs gone already...a few nuts remain.

I also have an English Walnut tree that is about half the size of the one above. This pic is of nuts from both trees. The English Walnut is the larger nut..even though it's a much smaller tree.

Yeah, every now and then we will get a fall with some color. I was up back packing in the Bridger/Teton Wilderness in Wyoming last month and on the 17th the aspen turned almost overnight. We had been up above the tree line where there was nothing but rocks but were able to descend along one trail into an aspen grove. I have to go somewhere else if I want fall colors.

IDK if it's accurate or not but I think the Dutch Elm and Ash borer really did a number on our fall colors. I remember our falls being a lot more vibrant around here. Maybe it's just a dry vs wet year?

^^^ And also...a much shorter time span. My trees went from all green to colors and falling off in three days.
In my area, the Elms and Ash trees have been dead for quite a few years now.
