I finally finished my driveway gate!

Finally, I finished my driveway gate (well, almost).

Back Story:
About 3 years ago, I purchased a 12' gate for my driveway - to be installed after I pour new concrete.
When the driveway was poured, I had the gate posts set into the concrete according to the directions. The posts were set at 153" on center and the posts had centering holes for measuring. We followed the directions to a T and checked & double checked.
Unfortunately, when the gate came out of it's crate (3 years after purchase), it was 138" (11.5'), not the 144" as stated in the owners/installation manual. Therefore, it left a big gag at the end of the gate.
I contacted Home Depot and they could care less as it was 3 year after purchase. I complained all the way up the ladder until I got a "partial" refund.
Now I just need to add the motor & electronic lock.

Moral of the Story - Home Depot doesn't stand by it's products without substantial complaining. Mighty Mule Customer Service never responded to numerous contact attempts.

Today's Story:
I hired a welder to add sections onto each end of the gate to make it larger.

Below is the result:
Original Gate - Notice the large Gaps at Each End

Newly Added to Gate:

Moral of the story. Don't wait 3 years before you install.

Looks good.

The end result looks good.
But you forgot, measure twice, cut once.

Or at least measure once.

Looks good. I don’t trust Home Depot, Lowe’s or any Lange company. Open and check all purchases all the time.
