not sure if that is photoshopped or not.
One of Gordon Murray's design goals was a motor with minimal "distractions" for his T.50

Worth reading about his new creation

Not familiar with bmw- BUT- I'm voting real- all in.

The mechanic pulled it and realizing what a pia it was/ customer mentality included- see "parts guy thread" , so a meme in the making. He had the meme figured out before 3 hours in and 3 more hours before the engine was even pulled.
By the time the engine was out, not time to photoshop. He popped the pic and added the text.

jmho.

edit- I am concerned about the lack of BMW cladding and extra stuff over the front, but I'm going to assume dual turbo waterjacket intercoolers. My wife is cooking a steak right now . My limited bmw knowledge sense that looks like a legit transfer case for an bmw awd. now for dinner! yummm!!!!!

I vote real. This is a pic of my former R1100S opened up for a clutch job.

It that bmw or cayenne? The transfer case says SUV. Those square boxes before the intake manifold look like water / air intercoolers. Did bmw make a twin turbo x5?

The new M5 has x-drive, so not necessarily a suv. Have been working on some intermittent problems with my 535xd and can the number of hoses, vacuum lines, solenoid etc etc is mind-boggling

I’m a life long BMW fan, but it is just horrifying and sad.
It is somewhat fitting, esp. when contrasted to the Tesla pic. It looks like an internal combustion engine in the ICU on life support.

A friend of mine owns an 8 year old M3 and it needs a new clutch.

The car has travelled 130,000 km (80,778 miles).

The bill estimate: $6,000!.

Ha! And everybody disrespects Audi for their mechanical silliness. Sure, my last A6 had impossible-to-reach coolant hoses on the back of the engine, but there were only TWO of them...
