He did more for humanity as a former president than when he was in office.
Overall a nice guy. I know for sure, I don't want to spend a year "living" in hospice care. To each his own.

^^^ My father lived in 'hospice care' for months before he passed on.
He never lived anywhere but at home and the Hospice care-givers made regular stops.

Hospice workers are Angels and maybe so is Mr. Carter. Seriously good man. 1977-1981 was the wrong time to be president.

He is an icon here in Georgia . Quite the humanitarian along with his wife Rosalyn . While the end is near it was a heck of a run for the simple man from Georgia .

When I was 12 years old, we went to the MSP airport when he landed there and I got to shake his hand- was too young to care much about politics, but was happy to meet a President.

I read his biography several years back. Overall a remarkable human. Smart, dedicated to his family and fellow man, a remarkable post presidential run of leadership and humanitarian work.

When will we ever see another politician with the humility and integrity of Jimmy Carter? I love how even when he was President, it was never, "James Carter." Only Jimmy. Contrasted with some of the choices today, he is an absolute giant of a man.
