Nobody could explain why the brakes couldn't stop the car.
Foot on the wrong pedal.

Almost Banned Once
|
A German perspective of the Taycan. (From Faceplant)
The Slingshot Channel Sorry for my sour face... but sometimes, even my usually sunny mood suffers. We got the Taycan Turbo "loaner" on Friday evening, and it is probably a great car. I don't know that yet as charging it is a pain in the behind. The "charger" that comes with it requires a PIN and a PUK (for a charger?) and its manual is as thick as a brick. The 380 Volt cable that came with it does fit into the power plug in my workshop, which has no problems running all my heavy machines (band saw, lathe, mill, ...). But as soon as I connect the Porsche, the RCD pops. There is a charging station just 500 meters from our house, which was a surprise here in the deep countryside... but of course the connectors don't fit. There isn't enough juice to reach the next "Hyper Charger", so the normal household power plug (230 V) is the only option. It takes like two days to fill the battery. Connected it yesterday at noon, so this hopefully will give us enough power for ONE short little trip today, before we have to bring the thing back. This was a horrible experience. I think that eMobility still has a looong way to go. They let the engineers go wild. "A charger that is app controlled and has WiFi connection? How cool is THAT?" Not cool. I want a car that is easy to fill, not pure frustration and disappointment. ![]() ![]()

Good fun!
I will never ever get an electric car. To me the essence of driving comes from a combustion engine. I am petrol head not a juice knob.

Juice knobs, great name. I suspect they also won’t be able to idle their electron barge for seven years and decide to get it back on the road in an instant like a gas car.
Questionable use of limited resources these..

I did not know that Mustang badges were a Taycan option.

Are you insane?. Replacing batteries is a lot easier than the insanity of draining bad gas, clogged injectors, dry cylinders, clogged fuel lines, draining gas tanks, etc.

This doesn’t happen in cool dry environments as has been proven here many times.... just recently put my 93 Alltrac back on the road with a new battery and twist of the key...
In other environments you have more to do to properly store...
