Geog. Trivia Question
If you already know the answer to this from earlier..or heard it on NBC morning news yesterday...Please give someone else the chance to guess.
Q: Of the 50 US states, which one is located the farthest west and which one is located the farthest east? Might be too easy of a question....it surprised me when I heard it on the news Monday. |
Farthest north fits in there somewhere.
|
No hints....yet!
|
Far East: South Carolina- Folly Beach to be exact.
At least that’s what they say... |

I'm sure Alex knew....rip.

On a side note...I see that Ken Jennings has been picked to fill in on Jeopardy until a permanent host is found. My guess is that he will be liked enough to stay.

The Aleutian islands in Alaska reach almost to Russia. So I bet they go further west than the main islands of Hawaii, but some of Hawaii's islands reach almost to Midway Island.
SC can't be the furthest east. Cape cod sticks out east pretty far. But I would have to guess Maine. And no I have not used the internet to look it up. |
^^^ So your answers are?

Alaska farthest west (just this side of international date line)
Hawaii farstest east (other side of international date line) Or maybe I have them reversed, but that's my guess without looking at other answers or googling. |
^^^ Nope
|
No more hints!
|
I'll shut up.
|
If they are going to be mad at me for the answer...might as well be worth it:D

State of Maine sees the sun come up first. |
I don't know the answer, but it would seem to me that since the earth is on an axis and rotates, it changes. My guess is Alaska and Hawaii and Florida and Maine. My guess is based on the prime meridian.
|
^^^No...the answer is given on the basis of a map.
You are on the right track though |
You guys are talking like the earth is round. How silly!
