Bought A Rover P6
Always wanted one. Drives great. Like riding in an armchair. Dry stored for many years and rust free. Still no sound like the deep throaty V8 burble.

That is one cool looking car. I would have guessed 1960's vintage.

Stunning car, what a great colour combination. We didn’t get that green here......
A couple of questions.. is that wheel smaller than the thin rimmed plastic original? With that the steering is Jag light and really suits the car. And can you get the period Rostyle wheels? The current ones undersell the stance of the car. And what a treat to see one in use... they are so smooth and easy to drive, cruise and generally potter about in. Lots of memories of motorway cruising between Oxford and London.....in the back seat thinking we were the coolest kids...

I just watched Salvage Hunters Classic Cars episode with the P6 yesterday during the show marathon on Motor Trend.
Here's what I don't get with the P6: they got a full roof panel off a donor car and replaced it on their car without ANY welding. How does that work? Their car turned out great with leather and a sunroof. Yours looks just like the one they had, very cool. https://watch.motortrend.com/tv-shows/salvage-hunters-classic-cars/full-episodes/vw-fastback-type-3-and-rover-p6

When I was living in Prescott, AZ there was a guy in my neighborhood with three of those. I wish we here in the US got more of the interesting European cars.

These were sold in the US from the late-mid 60s to maybe early 70s both as the 3500 with the Buick-derived aluminum V8 and as the 2000 with a 2L four. There were few sold then and even fewer left now.

These were as close to a Jag without the premium for the "Jag"
Good looking, handsome and very smooth with the Buick V8. When I lived in England, I remember many "working guys" rewarding themselves with one of these Rovers at retirement. They are very highly regarded cars.

The P6 structure is similar to that of the Citroen DS. A welded steel monocoque with bolt on external panels. No need to fit an LS engine, the Rover V8s of up to 4.6 litres will drop in. Also the TVR modified versions of up to 5 litres. Loads of companies supply tuning equipment, for example I have a Rover V8 that I built to 300BHP in my hillclimb car coupled to a River manual 5 speed.

The Brits started that model in the 1960s. maybe '63?. it just ran and ran due to little money. It was the Buick V8 engine Rover bought the rights to use.. Went on to be used in the Rover 3500 / Rover SD and the Range Rover models.
