Type R...better looking and more power for 2020
https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a34848360/2022-honda-civic-type-r-details/ :)
(thread title should say 2022...sorry) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1607776542.jpg |
My 18 year old son wants one of those things in the worst way. I told him "graduate college, get a good job, save your money and go buy one"
|
Can't say I blame him.
It's good to want things. |
Lose that rear wing and I*** might step foot on the dealership to go look at it. Big improvement.
*** "I" meaning 50+ year old arthritic has been flip phone carrying core target audience. |
This is a brilliant redesign, maturing along with the target demographic.
The hardcore fans of R, who actually have jobs and money, are now approaching their 30s |
Needs better styling.
|
For a Honda, that is high style
Looks like a small Euro sedan from the side |
They must have finally listened to complaints about the 'boy racer style' of the current one.
I like how they toned it down...very nice car. |
Man that is a lot of power out of a 2 litre. Wonder what it weighs?
|
^^^
Curb weight is 3121 lbs......according to Honda. |
It definitely looks better then the previous abomination. I still have zero interest until they get something other then the front wheels driving the car. Why don't they put that engine in a new S2000?
That's stock 2.0L Mitsubishi Evo HP numbers, and they stopped making those 5 years ago. |

A Honda Civic giving my 997 a run for its money? That ain’t right.
|
2 two many doors....
|
The driver in the video was very smooth... the time of the lap was 7:53 unofficially.

"Looks better" doesn't exactly mean good-looking. But kudos to Honda for still making hot compacts for the enthusiasts.
|
It would be a fantastic car. And a lot more "normal" looking. I think I'd feel a bit embarrassed driving the current one (me being an old git in his 60's), but I'd love this one. My mom adored her Civics - great cars.
|
I need to be pushed, not pulled.
Fatter tires look absolutely stooooipid on the front too. Big improvement - I like where they’re going but I echo the above. Until it’s RWD or AWD I could care less personally. |

Fast cars are not marketed to the retirement homes, but to the young. Just like current fashion, music, or movies. "This is not your father's Oldsmobile" If a retired guy liked the way a modern sports car looks, something is very very wrong. If retired folk hate the Civic R, then they are doing something right. |
