Did you ever want something and after you bought it, you were disappointed?

Did you ever have your eye on something and when you finally bought it, it was a disappointment?

I’ve been looking at the Milwaukee battery powered 3/8” ratchet for a year, trying to decide if I really needed it. I didn’t, but having numerous battery powered tools (Dewalt), I bought one because I heard Milwaukee tools have a good reputation.

I’ve tried it several times and it was a disappointment. The ratchet mechanism is very course and it just didn’t seem to be the tool I was thinking it would be. Maybe I’m used to my smaller, fine tooth ratchets and I will give it more time, but I don’t think it going to improve.

It’s not buyer’s remorse in that the product works and you feel bad, but that it doesn’t live up to your expectations.

What did you buy with high expectations and it turned out to disappoint?

I bought one of those Quickjacks. Meh. I think it's easier to jack up a car with a floor jack and jackstands than using the Quickjack.

I also bought one of those Motive power bleeders, but there are some master cylinders it just doesn't fit, even if I have all the various attachment kits.

I bought a "rocket radio" from a comic book ad as a kid. It was just a cheap, cheap crystal set...but it could pull in the local station when I hooked it's alligator clip to a power pole guy wire. So there I was, a dumbass kid, sitting on the grass, listening through a plug in earphone to a radio station I didn't like.

Hey, guess it wasn't all bad. Still have a childhood memory.

As a kid, plastic control line model airplane, first flight/crash it was unrepairable. However it started a hobby of building balsa flying models.

And they didn’t come with any clothes or crowns to dress them in, either.

Dang, I had a friend tell me that the battery powered ratchets were life changing. One was on my short list too.

This had ads on TV in 1968

My middle sister "had to Have one". And my parents bought her one. And after she played with it a little while, she said "Why did I have to have one?"

I’ve done it several times. Many of which were made by Harley Davidson. I’d jones for one that eventually wound up in my garage. After a couple months...off to be sold or traded at a loss.

The one I got cost me a little more than $100 at Harbor freight. What I like it for is removing and replacing those bolts and nuts that have 2 inches of threads. Make short work of it.

I bought one of these on Amazon. Reviews say that they are similar to a first gen Milwaukee ratchet...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZWBYBK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also picked up a Milwaukee M12 combo kit at Home Depot a few weeks ago. It was an exclusive, had screw gun, mini sawzall, ratchet, impact driver and flashlight for $199. HD has a shyteton of combo kits, you just have to find one with the right components to suit your needs.

Bottom line, Amazon unit is nice but batteries are not interchangeable with Milwaukee. Milwaukee ratchet is nicer but not by much.
