It looks good but I don't think the 11,000 covers everything. It seems like there are an additional 8 "chapters" that are needed to complete the build.

Agree and it doesn't look like they tell you how much each kit is to ultimately complete the car. But what a great car it would be assuming you are crazy enough to drive it on the street if you could make it a street legal kit car.

Probably not, but a miata doesn't sound bad. If I had to nit-pick, there's only two things that aren't fantastic about it: 1 Fake rear drum brakes and 2 Fake 8 cyl header. Still, I'd happily pay if I had the spare money for a toy like that. I'd probably even try to make it street legal as a kit (add some lights and a horn, right?). Hell yes! That's AWESOME!

the proper used set Borrani centerlaced wheels will set you back 5-6K anyway. 10-12K for new. That is the definitive part of the "look." whenever I see these types of cars without the proper wires, it just ruins it all. I picked up a set of Ferrari 500 Borranis for a project I'm working on.....and it's probably the most expensive part of my project.
I talked with the historian at Borrani when I was researching my build, and he gave me the specs...they have an archive with every wheel they've ever made, with specs, sizes, offsets, etc...as well as what cars they were originally used on. Borrani RW3264 in the rear and RW3696 would fit this well. Painted...never chrome.

I’ll get a Miata but not for this reason. I’d get a stick for my daughter so she learns stick and nobody borrows her car.

It's all based on Anstead's build that was televised last year - using an alfa spider - in the "Master mechanic" series available on motor trend on demand. I guess there was a demand for the car because they now made a kit.. Watch the show if you can (you can subscribe for a month for like $2.00 and then leave) it's quite good... It's hard not to like Anstead for his enthusiasm and skills...

Shaun.
Did you finally finish the Ice green targa and the engine on the 928? I bet building this "alfa" takes tons of time |

Go for it Shaun. If anyone can pull this off, it would be you.
I thought about sending them a check myself before the price jumps, but I don't think I could pull it off without assistance. |

Thank you Daniel, I think it could be a possibility at the end of the year. It would be amazing to scoot around Boston and suburbs in one. If I can hire another tech, I think it could happen.

I saw that thing. If i had 30k to spend on a toy, that would be it.

I'd have a hard time between a Beck 550, Lotus/Caterham 7, and one of these.

I think there's a reason you don't see many open wheel cars licensed for the street.
