Well it’s official, now a robot can dance better than me. Admittedly that bar was set pretty damn low to begin with...

The advances in motion in the last several years are hugely impressive. I wonder if in some ways it's been enabled due to cell phones (computing power, size and accelerometers) or if this other work has driven cell phone improvements.

From the peanut gallery.
Soooo, here's my thought - and I'll be the first to admit I'm not the sharpest tool in the chandelier, but I want to believe that there a "Bell Labs invents the transistor; the future has moved on its axis" discovery on the horizon, only this time for portable energy...
I think of those giant rooms full of heat-producing vacuum tubes powering computers that are less capable than what we now have in a disposable greeting card.. Until the silicon transistor came along, heat, efficiency and physical size were always going to the big issues when it came to the amplification of electrons, but in 1955, 3 brilliant men with a team of brilliant men supporting them introduced an invention that shaped the future in a way that was unimaginable. With so much of the world's brainpower now being used to refine and develop portable electrical energy or an equivalent, it's just a matter of time until a parallel discovery to the transistor redefines the future of motion for our grandkids, right?

I emailed the OP video to some friends. One responded with this scene from Robocop.

It's all fun until this happens.

Cooling issues? wtf? Optimus Prime solved that years ago with his cab-over radiator design.
![]() Also, while digging up that pic, they now make transformers that actually transform. I find this much less threatening than our future dancing robot overlord. https://keyparents.com/product/transformers-optimus-prime?gclid=CjwKCAiA57D_BRAZEiwAZcfCxRT_74neO3PjuD 4QWh2hlPg_hiOnUCT5RlYrqztT17AsuyGwo1rIMhoCcYMQAvD_ BwE |

We still have a chance unless they learn to Moon Walk. If they learn to Moon Walk, it's ALL OVER.
