I usually don't watch the pre-race, mainly because I'm on Central Time Zone. But with races in Texas and Mex DF, I've watched the last 2. Austin's display of horrible manners by some 'celebrities' and their entourages.
Today in Mex, Sky did a piece on Martin Brundle's grid walk and how he was shunned by a couple of them. Apparently F1 has now enacted a rule that the posse, body guard, publicist of the celebs may not be on the grid for future GPs. Nice! They were sure to show the clip of the guy they called 'Draco Malfoy' clone telling Martin he couldn't talk to the Stallion woman. What a tool that guy was. Also from watching the pre-race, I've seen the "We Race as One" commercial thing that is shown right before the really important taking the knee display. Funny that Kimi does not say a word during the commercial thing. Penny for his thoughts. Pretty dang good race! |
I used to enjoy the grid interviews years ago. now I just FF until its says "Formation Lap" at the top. I do watch the podium interviews. Mexican fans are very passionate!

They were still spraying champagne and the coverage was cut to go to more talking heads talking about other people playing some silly game with a rubber ball. Sigh.
It was a great to see Hamilton having to fight for his position. It is a shame he did not get overtaken for 2nd. Perez had bad traffic from back markers and Hamilton's luck prevailed. Botas as usual takes the hit and Lewis gets to race. The pre race stuff is sometimes interesting. It was nice to see that F1 told the self important celebs to leave the bodyguards behind and off the grid. The celebs are only invited to the grid to help promote the event, and hiding behind a phalanx of bodyguards and publicist brings nothing to the grid. |

What makes it worse is you never know race to race how long they will broadcast. I guess they were at the end of the time they allotted yesterday. Quote:

Hamilton "When you got Sergio behind you like that, you know their car is fast".. Ouch... No tacos for you !!! LOL.
|
I would liked to haven seen a more aggressive strategy from Red Bull since they had control of Lewis

This could upset the order of the grid for this weekends race in Brazil....

^^^ Plus Hamilton will get a 5 grid spot penalty for the power unit swap .
|
Plus Max should keep his hands in his pockets while he's looking around in Parc Ferme
|
|
Max is the the new champion and next year will switch from #33 to #1. lol

Ham put on quite a show today, hope he does it again tomorrow. Nice hat manhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1636835563.jpg

Max is a punk. He clearly ran Hamilton very wide. He did not come close to staying on track.
|
Wow, great race. What a weekend for the winner.

Favorite part was seeing the genuine joy of the winning team member accepting the manufacturer trophy and enjoying the champagne celebration.

What a racer! Start the sprint from last place? We'll do our best. 15 overtakes later, looking at a 5 place grid drop? It's not over yet. Got pushed wide? No complaining, just get on with it.
Anyone who says Lewis is resting on his laurels hasn't really been watching. Ferrari seems to be the best of the rest. They were the only team out of the top runners not to be lapped. Best Les |
